“Famous Fried Chicken”
Watershed first opened its doors 14 years ago in Decatur, Georgia. Owner Emily Saliers (of the Grammy winning Indigo Girls) joined forces with Chef Scott Peacock who came wielding recipes from his mentor the legendary Miss Edna Lewis. Collectively, they managed to make Watershed (housed in a converted gas station) one of the most buzzed-about restaurants in the city, claiming a James Beard award in 2007.In early 2010 Peacock left Watershed to work on a documentary project in his home state of Alabama. Several months later Watershed announced Chef Joe Truex as its Executive Chef and new partner. At the time, Chef Truex was already an established name in Atlanta through his former restaurant Repast. In August of 2011 Watershed closed its Decatur location and opened in May 2012 under the new name ‘Watershed on Peachtree’ located on Peachtree Road in the historic Atlanta neighborhood of Brookwood Hills.Watershed on Peachtree continues the restaurant’s long standing commitment to its founding principles with great attention to detail and community consciousness. We believe the best tasting food arrives fresh from local and organic farmers, and we believe the best tasting wine is served in a proper glass at the proper temperature. We value each guest and everyone is welcome at Watershed on Peachtree!
