“Georgia's oldest antiquarian bookshop”
Street Books is expanding its service to include special ordering and institutional ordering of new titles, in addition to its out-of-print booksearch service. If your school, church or reading group needs one title or one hundred, we can now fulfill that requirement, as well. Whether you're a North Georgia local or one of our international customers from Anchorage to Ghana, we'd like to thank you once again for supporting Jackson Street Books. 2011 is our twenty-seventh year in business, and we look forward to filling those bibliophilic needs for another quarter-century. A general used and rare bookshop doing business in beautiful downtown Athens since 1984. Our shop is open every day (Monday - Saturday 11am-6pm, Sundays 12-4pm), and we carry around fifty thousand titles in hardback and softcover, in addition to maps, prints, cds and DVDs. Frustrated with dilettante online sellers? Don't be fooled by "virtual" bookshops: we're a real bookshop, not some doofus with a computer!
Horrible. Lady at desk when I walked in scolded me for having a mini book bag and asked me to leave her store. Would never go back especially since I am an avid reader and have never been treated that way in a book store in my life. She would have made at least $50 off of me but her crappy customer service and rude behavior gave b&n a lifetime customer. Yay for local business...? Pfft
