“The official peanut monument!”
Though many covet the crown, the King of Giant Peanuts still rules from its cylindrical brick perch along the interstate in Ashburn, Georgia. The peanut monument, located in Turner County, was designated the official peanut monument in 1998. At one time, peanuts were the number one cash crop in Georgia and were largely responsible for keeping many Turner County families fed. In honor of the importance of the peanut, one of Ashburn's citizens erected what some call the "World’s Largest Peanut.” The monument is approximately 20 feet tall.
Peanut is gone
Fun to get out and stretch your legs. Good Waffle House off the same exit.
Why is this even on here? Pure junk. It's a cardboard peanut. Don't waste your time.
Quick photo op, but not much there.
Peanut is no longer there.
No mugging for us.... But oh the nutragous extravaganza
This sucks. You can't even get to the peanut. And the directions take you down a road where you can get mugged. DONT GO HERE
Need to go in cool months only, soooo many gnats!
It's not there. No signage, no peanut, no peanut shells, no foundation that a large peanut would sit upon. Bummed.
Missing! Peanut is no longer there
