Camp Algonquin (Sleepaway Camp filming location)

Sleepaway Camp (1983) was filmed at the former Camp Algonquin in Argyle, New York.  The camp was located on the eastern side of Summit Lake.  The camp opened in 1927 and closed around the time Sleepaway Camp was filmed.  The land was auctioned off in 1987 and the buildings were torn down.  The tennis courts are still visible, as is the baseball diamond where they played in the film.  There were plans to build homes on the property, but as far as I know the land is still vacant.
