This area use to be a swamp a long time ago. Sometimes during the winter right after a light snow is a good time to visit but watch your footing. There's no place to picnic or bathrooms. It's basically trails for walking and having an opportunity to be outdoors in the woods. There is a marker that shows that at one time, Goll Woods was the state line between Michigan and Ohio. The trees there are some of the oldest in Northwest Ohio - possibly 300-400 years old. It's worth a visit but do take bug repellent as when it rains, there will be standing water.
Not far of from the highway, but we went in the end of July and did not get more than 200feet from the car before we had to retreat for fear of blood loss from the mesquito population...... it was like they had not had a meal in a long time, and they smelled us coming from miles away....
