Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on May 01, 2024We were passing through and needed a place to set up a tent for the night in October. We were in the non-electric loop and only had one other tent there. There were a number of bathroom/shower houses throughout the campground and they were clean and nice. Lots of trees and it looked like great recreational opportunities on the lake with some sites right on the water. We arrived late and left early, so self-registered and didn't interact with anyone there. The electric loops had more campers and the sites looked nice - not too close together and of good size.
Note that there is also a Pymatuning State Park across the lake in Pennsylvania - we stayed on the Ohio side.

Reserved our site almost a week in advance specifically by the lake with plenty of shade backing the woods, and when we got to the park someone was still in the site holding over, nowhere to be seen, and the park services did absolutely nothing other than offer us another substandard selection of sites. The best site we were offered was inundated with cottonwood fluff and we stayed because we'd already paid our money but people were noisy and disrespectful, blaring country music until after 10pm. Will not be back.

This was one of the best Ohio campgrounds we have camped in. The park/campground itself is huge, and the campsites follow suit. Our site (#164) had a partial view of the water and was twice as large as sites we’ve had at other campgrounds. The rates were great, the site’s electric/water/sewer were fine, the bathrooms/showers were roomy, clean, and very conveniently located, and the overall vibe of the place was calm and comfortable. We saw several deer and even a bald eagle. We have T-Mobile phone service which was basically non-existent. However, we also have a Verizon mobile hotspot and even with just 2 bars it was quite speedy and easily streamed videos. Some of the other sites we saw were pretty “swampy”, but ours and the sites around us were all very nice. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Pymatuning in the fall of 2019, and for this trip we left the kids at home hoping to get a peaceful few days away. And at Pymatuning (Ohio)... that's just what we got! We did go mid week so I'm sure it wasn't as crowded as usual even though the sites down by the lake were still pretty filled up; but despite that, it still seemed very quite and serene. The nicest shower house was on the north side of the park, and seemed to be brand new. The other ones are starting to show their age, but seemed to at least be kept very clean. They recently just expanded how many full hook up sites they have too, and you can even snag a lake front full hook up site... if you plan ahead. This park is definitely good if you like peaceful boating and kayaking (25hp limit lake), and fishing. Very big rig friendly too, but be careful, some sites are extremely sloped, so be sure to ask the camp office if you haven't seen any pictures of the site you're booking! I would definitely stay here again, but only if I want a quiet getaway since there is nothing of real great interest in the area. If you're just passing through, or want a peaceful, wooded stay, then I would definitely recommend this park. Be sure to check out our video as well!

First time at Pymatuning since I was a kid. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lakeside sites are a plus. Only a few have water. Place is very clean. Not much to do in town. Many sites are not level, especially those set back from lake

Brand new paved roads, full hookups in a large majority of the sites. Most or all are back-in. Nice and level.
Great view up against the lake, looks like they're working on an amphitheater.
There is a beach close, but looks like it needs some work.
With fees, $52 for a night.
