We stayed at this campground to visit two nearby National Park Service units: Andersonville NHS and the Jimmy Carter NHP. This park was an excellent choice for that purpose. It's literally down the street from the Andersonville site and Plains, GA is about 25 miles away. The camp host and the person in the office at the Drummer Boy museum down the street were friendly, welcoming, and very efficient with both our reservations and our check in process.
The park is basic, with just a few rows of RV pads with grass in between, but it was clean and orderly. Our site was a concrete pad, and it was level with all the utilities working. Septic was placed a little awkwardly so we just decided to dump at our next location, but we could have pulled forward before leaving in order to reach it. The pads are much closer together than we prefer, but we were the only short-term guests during our stay so we had no issues with crowding. Besides us, the only other occupants of the park were the camp-host, one long-term occupant, and a raft of cats, ducks, peahens, and other wildlife. Not surprisingly, it was very quiet at night.
Andersonville is an extremely small town with very limited retail, so visitors need to head to Americus (18 miles south) for gas or groceries. Also note that Google Maps gives the wrong location for this campground. It's on Church Street west of the city cemetery, not on Ellaville Street.
Cell service on AT&T was completely adequate for streaming, somewhere in the range of 20-30 Mbps download.

Check in at the Drummer Boy Museum (nearby small downtown area next to the only restaurant in town). Has full hook ups but the sewer was way off. The day we left, we pulled forward a few feet to dump. No fire pit or ring. Be careful, there are two power lines that run low. It was a nice and quiet site.

This was a great stop to access the town of Andersonville as well as the National Historic Site. Be aware that sites really weren’t designed for pull through even though you’ll be told that they are. If you took a left off of 228 onto Church street take the first entrance before the community building. There are nice cement pads with gravel and grass. We did get 10% senior discount off the price that I’ve noted but we still feel that it’s a little over priced compared to other city / county parks that we’ve stayed at before. Cynthia, the contact person, was awesome. You do need to make a reservation but it can be same day if the museum is open. Check the website. There was very poor Verizon service here at times even with our WeBoost.

Stayed here 3 nights for easy access to both Andersonville historic site and Jimmy Carter Np in Plains. This is not a big campground but very comfortable and camp host was friendly making us feel very welcome. While there we had some extreme weather and the host made sure we were informed and safe.
It is small so if you’re coming in with a bigger rig you will want to make a reservation as there may be only a couple of sites that work. We are 37’ with slides on both sides so we used one of the wider spots. But sites have FHU which seems incredible for the age and size of the campground.
If you’re looking for a glamping experience this isn’t the spot for you but if in your travels you look for quiet places to stay and relax a bit add this to your list. They offer senior and military discounts. Check in at the Little Drummer Boy museum.
