Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 21, 2023We spent two nights here. The have 21 electric only sites and we had one. The rest have no hookups. There is a dump and potable water station. Level site. Woodsy. Clean and neat. Staff was friendly, seemed to take pride in their park and did patrol. Quiet except for some road noise from the close by Glenn Highway and some airplane noise from the nearby joint Air Force/Army base, but not a lot. We would stay here again and recommend this campground. Convenient to Anchorage and just across the Glenn Highway from the must-see Alaska Native Heritage Center.

We popped in for a night so we could knock out several errands in Anchorage. The location is very close to shopping, etc in Anchorage, which is great. The campground is pretty wooded, but it is close to the highway, so there is some road noise. Our primary issues with this campground were some of the guests and the state of the facilities. The bathroom fixtures were obviously 2nd hand prison issue. The stalls had no locks, there were no soap dispensers and the sink was a trough. There were several groups of people camped that were seemingly down on their luck. There were several screaming matches at the camp site across from us during our stay. There was also a lot of coming and going of various people in cars held together with packing tape and trash bags. Overall, it didn’t feel like an environment I would like to leave anything of value unattended in. Hard pass.

We almost avoided this campground because of prior reviews. We decided to check it out on our way into Anchorage and was lucky enough to snag an electric site for 4 days. Our site was nestled among the trees and afforded us lots of privacy and space unlike the parks in town. During that time the campground was quiet (some muffled road noise) and did not encounter any unsavory characters as stated in other reviews. The park personnel were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be of assistance. We did not use the bathrooms or showers while we were there so I cannot comment on their cleanliness or what was available. They were also doing some major repairs on one of the bathrooms while we were there. Dump and potable water were available.

We had to come to Anchorage for weeks long job, I went to every RV Park in town.... then last resort I came here..... boy where we surprised! Only gave 4 stars because no full hook ups but this in the closest to camping in the woods as it gets....got to watch for bears too...... and your in town! Right by shopping, movie theater, restaurants etc...... we topped off out water tank found a spot with 30 amp and relaxing as it comes..... WAY better than all the other cramped parks we seen.... security is great here no issues and the folks that work here are easy and accommodating. This is the only park I will stay at if I have to come to Anchorage!

The campground is OK. The bathrooms are the worst.
While we were there, part of the campground was closed off because of bear activity. They ended up having to kill them because campers would leave food out for them. Dont be those people.
Other than that, its a means to an end type of campground. Everything is done by hand, so it takes a while to get checked in.

Visited 9/6/2019. Looked like it has just closed for the season. Not in a great part of town but the campground looked safe. We ended up going to Tikahtnu Commons a nearby shopping mall but were woken up at 1 am by security and asked to move.

Workers are friendly & helpful, website is very difficult ( how about government designed useless ) bathrooms are nasty, even if you were raised in a 3rd world country! Would love to see the City Council people camp here for a full night using the facilities & then there would be a positive change! Booked for 3 nights but that’s not gonna happen at this campground!!! Look elsewhere unless you do not plan on using their restrooms…..
