Mostly run on donations, the zoo houses animals like tigers, brown, black, and polar bears, wolves, coyotes, owls, eagles, muskox, yaks, Dall sheep, and many more.
The zoo also features animal encounter experiences, including visits with tigers and porcupines.
We think this is a great zoo, and a visit here is one of the best things to do in Anchorage!
We love the Alaska Zoo! It's very natural and smaller than other big city zoos. But the animals seem happy and are well cared for. The polar bear and the seals are our favorites! But hidden in the back are the wolves, the snow leopards, and the bears! Don't miss them!
