“experience Indian, taste Virginia”
Narmada Winery is on 51 acres of beautiful rolling countryside in Virginia’s Rappahannock County. Owners Pandit and Sudha Patil began planting the vineyards a decade ago, and the winery itself opened in 2009. The wines are made by Sudha Patil, who combines her background in chemistry with a sensitive palate to create elegant, food-friendly wines that are subtle and graceful. Narmada Winery delivers excellence in Virginia wine. The winery has received an impressive number of gold medals in its short history, most recently by garnering two of the four gold medals achieved by Virginia wineries in the 2013 San Francisco International Wine Competition. Narmada wines are handcrafted, and production is generally a modest 3000 cases per year. About 75% of the winery’s needs come from its own vineyards with the balance sourced from trusted Virginia growers. Too small as yet to be in major distribution, Narmada wines are most often purchased in the Amissville tasting room, and are also available via internet. Several discerning restaurants and wine shops in the immediate area carry Narmada wines. In addition to award-winning wines, guests who visit Narmada receive gracious hospitality from owners Pandit and Sudha Patil and their staff. The winery is becoming known as a favorite wedding venue as well as a remarkable location for private parties and family celebrations. An outpost of sleek sophistication in an outstanding rural setting, Narmada Winery welcomes guests to taste enchanting wine and enjoy the rolling hills of Rappahannock County.
