My husband and I stopped here with our three girls (5, 9 & 11) to see Moai Dude while on a road trip. We had no idea this park was here also and it was a nice surprise. The girls loved the park and we enjoyed a rest. They deemed it one of the best stops on the whole road trip!
This park is in the suburbs-Actually in a neighborhood. It's a bit out-of-the-way, but we were looking for fun free things to do and see. This is a great playground! If you need a break, let the kids run around and play. The pirate theme is awesome and my daughter loved playing pirate with the other kids. There is a water fountain, a covered picnic area, and a non-flush toilet. Local sculptor and master welder, John Brommel, welded a masterful rendering of a mysterious Easter Island head. The sculpture is titled “Moai Dude”, due to the whimsical smirk added to the giant rust patina face, giving the dude a surfer-like expression. The Moai is a realistic recreation and almost looks to be carved from stone, and stands 11 feet tall.
