Pulled in for overnight. No one was around, to take my money, and there were no envolops, to pay. Thanks BLM. Very shaded, and full of water birds.

Pulled in it was almost dark, no one at the entrance gate and no pay envelopes. Took a brochure and found Site 9 right on the lake. Looked it up on reserve America and it was first come first serve. Showers were clean and hot and slept peacefully.
Bring some bug spray the files do and will bite!

Nice for a stop along the way. Lots of bugs because it is right on the water. Showers were clean and hot. Sites are well spaced shaded and clean. Sign at entrance says no ATVs in park so it was quiet.
We were only stopping to sleep so didn't unhook, site was plenty long.

We were here for 3 nights, wish we could have stayed the full 2 weeks. Very relaxing, birdsong is wonderful and walking, biking and just plain chilling is perfect. With our America the Beautiful pass - our full hookup price was only $14/night and the site was almost level and very distant from neighbors. Site had a gravel base. The drive off I-70 to Alma is pretty long, but the roads were all good. We used the directions from the Park and took South St to the park entrance, avoiding Main St in Alma. Directions may confuse you, because the mailing address is in Republican City, but the campground/park is very close to Alma. The main bathhouse has one washer and dryer in both the men's and woman's sides and they were in good condition. This is all in all a great campground!

Returned to this campground three weeks later on the way home. Found many more campers but still a lot of open sites. Corps of Engineers campground. 12 dollars with electric and dump station on the way out. Campground is right next to reservoir with spacious sites and lots of different birds. Walleye season had just opened and there were lots of boats in campground.
Arrived on 4/20/23. One other camper. Doesn't open till May 1st. No charge. Big campground. Clean, full hook ups. Elec. not turned on yet.
