“fastest roller coasters in the Northeast!”
It's doubtful that Solomon Dorney ever imagined that one of the longest, tallest and fastest roller coasters in the Northeast would be sweeping over his shady picnic groves and trout ponds. However, this resort has become one of the greatest family amusement parks in the country. 1860 Solomon Dorney built a fish hatchery with the initial purpose of purveying fish to markets across the country and providing local anglers and trout gourmets with a ready supply of their favorite dish. This "Fish Weir and Summer Resort" along Cedar Creek featured eight trout ponds and several shady picnic groves.
Dorney Park and the Wildwater Kingdom is one of the most visited amusement parks on the East Coast. This combination water park and theme park has something to offer all age groups.
Dorney Park features more than 60 rides, shows, and attractions, and an area made just for kids. The Wildwater Kingdom provides more than 20 slides with varying thrill levels. Both parks provide kid and family-friendly rides and attractions, making it a perfect place for a full day of family fun. You’ll also find Planet Snoopy here, a whole park dedicated to kids.
We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Allentown, PA!
Great for all ages. We had a 5 yo & a 46 yo!!! Very clean fun park. Snoopy land was perfect for my 5 yo. Some the best roller coasters on the east coast. Short lines. Can't wait to do it again. Plan 2 days if you want to do it all-which makes the season pass worth it.
Dorney Park was a blast. No long lines, we were able to get on every ride relatively quickly. Unfortunately we only did the amusement park side, no time for the water park. They now have the Demon Drop ride, which is still scary as heck. And "Possessed" is now my favorite
