“Like watching paint dry”
Stop by this private residence (call for appointment) to check out the world's largest ball of paint. The ball started out the size of a baseball, but turned into the behemoth it is today. It is certifiably recognized by guiness, and travelers can see a portion that has been carved out, exposing layers upon layers, and years upon years of paint. So stop by, and watch paint dry in the best way possible.
One of the more fun stops I made along my recent cross-country trek, and a great conversation piece. It's in the middle of nowhere but worth the drive; the size of it has to be seen to be believed. The family that started it has kept track of every single person that has applied a layer to the ball including the date and color, by having you sign into the guestbook. You're offered a variety of colors to choose from, with the only stipulation being that you have to paint a different one from the last. I chose teal, which upon a quick check by the wife hadn't been used in over a 100 layers. Calling ahead was easy and they were very accommodating with the time; I arrived there around 7pm and there was another pair of people coming about an hour after me. Thanks to the internet they get visitors from all over the world.
Make sure to call ahead, with plenty of time. I was hoping to see this about an hour ahead of when we would be driving by, but they unfortunately had no availability. Call a day ahead, at least.
I'm so glad we stopped! It's so much bigger than this picture already! Bring $20 with you to get an awesome t-shirt that says you painted. Sign the wall, get a certificate, best roadside stop of this trip by far.
This is an epic roadtrip stop! It is located at their home so you must call for a reservations. We had the privilege of painting layer 27,563 on the Largest Ball of Paint. Mike made the experience so wonderful with his stories of how this all started. I highly recommend you stop here and get your certificate. It is no charge, but we paid for a t-shirt and for there lunch for the day. Thanks Mike, we Loved it!
How many times do you get the chance to put a 27486th coat of paint on the worlds largest ball of paint. Worth the stop. Folks are very friendly.
Wish I would have read the reviews, a road side attraction that requires call ahead reservations shouldn't be labeled as a roadside attraction. Would not make the effort to stop again.
I guess I should have read the small print...appointment REQUIRED? Literally no one waiting and the lady turned us away.
Worth a stop. Call for an appointment. Really nice really family. You can paint the next layer or just enjoy the wackiness!

Cool to be a part of this world record holding paint ball. Mike and Glenda are very nice people.
