Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 30, 2018We camped here in June, 2013 in a 35 foot fifth wheel. The rate shown is the 2015 rate for a 20 amp back in electric site.
After a spectacular seven hour drive from Dawson City, Yukon on the Top of the World Highway we were ready to take a break and explore around Chicken, Alaska. You can't miss the Chicken Gold Camp. Just look for the big chicken!
The campground has a parking area for dry camping and an area with electric hookups. We filled up our fresh water tank at their fill station and backed into the last 20 amp electric site. The campground is basically a big parking lot but it was level and a comfortable place to stay. WiFi is available as well as coin operated showers. Some of the sites have fire pits and picnic tables.
A gift shop and restaurant are on site. An interesting attraction here is the Pedro Dredge and gold panning is also available.
Chicken is a small community which was settled by early gold miners. There are still active mines in the area. It is a great place to stop between Dawson City, Yukon and Tok, Alaska. There are two other areas with RV parks in Chicken. Both have gift shops. There is an interesting park with many gold mining relics at the Chicken Post office.

Staying here one night after getting off the top of the world highway. It was $20 for dry camping And $35 dollars for electric only hook up.There was a centralized water station And only gray water dumping was free. They wanted another $10 to dump your Blackwater. Also there was a charge for showers. They only give you two hours of free Wi-Fi. It's a gravel lot so very dusty. It was a quiet place to stay. But for $20 dollars I would rather Boondock a few miles Down the street near the river. There's no cell signal at all in Chicken.

That’s about all I can say about this campground. We made the mistake of coming here the day after Chickenstock with 1500 people in this small place. That’s on us for not knowing about this.
I felt like I was in a construction zone until 9 at night.
You do not get any good internet. They give you a slip of paper with numbers to enter that lady’s for a day. Problem is, you basically have to turn Eve off from m your phone to get it. I used mine up in 10 minutes!
The town itself is interesting but you could see it all in a couple of hours.
