Very nice Welcome center!! Staff was very nice and knew their stuff. The only draw back for me was there isn't enough room to park when you are pulling a 35' travel trailer. There is a hotel next door, but it's a little walk. Not bad for a healthy person, but it was a little much for this disabled person to walk, especially in the heat.
So great! Mandatory road trip stop. Jim there knows his stuff. And the 3d model is amazing.
Wanda Johnson was super helpful in pointing out some awesome Waynesboro area attractions and telling me all about Swannanoa, an incredible marble palace only a mile or so down the road but barely marked! Stop in here even if just to get your bearings--there is a huge 3d map of the Blue Ridge Parkway area. Also, free wifi and free restrooms, and an incredible view over Waynesboro and the valley to rival almost any BRP scenic overview.
