Key West has much to offer for tourists, travel enthusiasts, history buffs, anglers, and those searching for a party seven days a week. If you have yet to explore the rest of the three-mile stretch known as the Florida Keys, you're missing out. Today, I'm pointing out some of our favorite must-stops in Islamorada, called the Sport Fishing Capital of the World. Known for the best Tarpon Feeding in the Florida Keys, Robbies is a must-stop on your road trip through the Florida Keys. Make an entire day out of it by renting a boat or going on a fishing charter. They have a restaurant on site and indulge in a "trailer trash Bloody Mary" to kick start your day. Gift shops are on-site and busy during peak season, so plan accordingly.
Tip: head over as soon as they open to beat the crowd
This tiny beach in Islamorada is free and open to the public. Don't expect to see wave action, but they have a paved parking area, a boardwalk, covered picnic tables, and public restrooms.
Mangrove Mike's Cafe Mike's is a classic-style diner in the Keys with huge portions. It's a local favorite known for its French toast, tater tot tower, and eggs benedict.
If you are in Islamorada on a Sunday. There are dozens of local vendors, produce, fresh bread, art, gifts, and more. Make sure to try the Greek Stand and the fresh tacos and tamales.
Enjoy a distillery tour and try a rotating selection of beers and cocktails on tap. We love hanging out in the beer garden out back, and they often have live music and events and a food truck on site.
