Left on a rainy morning only to be confronted by more rain as we drove south. Would this be a repeat of our 2022 trip to Assateague, where we enjoyed a spring nor'easter for several days? Hmmm...
Arrived as the rain was beginning to pull out. And then began a week of beautiful hiking and biking weather marred only by one day of intermittent rain.
Enjoyed a nice day dodging raindrops as we explored several hiking trails along the intercoastal waterways.
Thoroughly enjoyed a quiet day hiking through the refuge with our dog, Cooper. Entertained by the symphony of bird song. Soothing to the soul.

Biked from our campsite at Cape Henlopen SP through Lewes and on to Rehoboth Beach where we found that instead of hi-rise h**l, there were beautiful neighborhoods with lush gardens and a convivial atmosphere.

Our trip was pleasantly surprising in so many ways. Beaches were clean and beautiful. Locals extremely pleasant and helpful. Cape Henlopen SP campground amazingly quiet considering the fact that it was fairly well booked during this first week of May.
