Leave July 7- 4 hour drive to Charlotte. You could stay in Charlotte.
July 7 lunch/activity for a break in Charlotte. 4 hour drive to Pigeon Forge to go to Titanic exhibit or aquarium. You can also take the Atlanta route which is also 4 hours. We did not go here because it was super crowded. It has the USS Alabama battleship and other such things.
We had lunch here. We actually ate at a ship table. Kind of fun. It is right on the water. An option.
We stopped here to stretch. It’s a pretty park that has a boardwalk to the waterfront beach. Really nice.
