Artist Offers Town Huge "Helping Hand" by Jim Etter Dec 1992
STRATFORD - Kevin Tyler believes a person, or even a town, sometimes needs something to look up to. So he's building it. Tyler, a local artist and sign-painter, says he, with the help of local welder Robby Lunsford, soon will complete a 31-foot-tall, 2-ton, steel structure that is his reproduction of a giant hand. For several months, their unusual project has drawn strange looks and many comments, both in town where it once was and in its present location in the front yard of Lunsford's rural home. But Tyler, 28, says the hand, with a butterfly on a fingertip and titled "In the Beginning," is designed to send a biblical and inspirational message throughout this southern Oklahoma community.

July 01, 2014 Don't follow your GPS for this address - pass it and keep going. It's beside a very small church that you can park in and take photos in the lawn beside it. Super cute little statue!
June 12, 2014 This was great! Totally worth it in my opinion. Went on 6/12 and the bridge between Lexington Purcell was closed, so we had to go all the way back through Norman to get back on the interstate! Even then it seemed worth it though!
June 15, 2022 As described. Google says it's closed, but is in the middle of a field, so can't really close. There is a short drive nearby to park on. The bug had some paint missing, and there are only 6 legs...so not a spider.😊 (According to pics, it's always only had 6 legs.)
