Jim and Suz are traveling across country to see friends and family. We plan to stop at interesting sights along the most efficient route, camping in our RV. This will be the first cross country trip we make after spending most of our time in the western States and abroad.
Pine, Arizona, United States
Pine is a small town full of vacation homes and a few thousand people who live there year round. Elk and deer abound and winters have snow but tend to be fairly mild. Climate change and poor water management makes for a struggling community, but tourism continues. A 20+ year drought has not helped.

Wonderful place for a few hour visit. Nice displays in the visitor center and exploring the ruins was interesting. Download the audio tour and you get a nice narration of area.
Totally cool place. They have a lovely interpretive center that is brand new. Lovely architecture and display areas. We roamed the newly built Grand Kiva showing the unique architecture. Up the road you can walk 2 different trails. One paved with lots of signage that explains many things along the way, and the other a steep trail up to the ruins closed to Chimney and Companion Rocks with ruins to explore and scenic views of the valleys below. Wondrous. We enjoyed the hike!
