First extended trip in our new camper 2017 R-pod 176 with 2017 Tundra pulling it. Went SE after Great Smoky National Park to get out of the way of TS Cindy that was headed to TN. Will hit NC next summer :)

Beautiful campground! Day trips to Juniper Springs and Salt Springs to swim and play in crystal clear water.
Stop between campgrounds; was worth it. Bring mask, snorkel, and fins to save $
Day trip to Madison Blue Springs, absolutely beautiful and favorite spring so far.
Stopped to check it out en route to campground, would love to return and spend more time here. 12 mile hike down to bottom of canyon sounds fun!
Beautiful campground on large lake, lots of house boats.
Huge park in Tennessee and Kentucky; stayed at Wrangler with all the horses. Lots to do and explore, however we couldn't find any good areas to swim which was disappointing for the kids. The old village was cool with the Blues Festival. We liked seeing the buffalo roam. Didn't see the elk, but they are there or so they say!
About 20 mins outside of downtown Nashville; loved this spot. Very tight to pull into because narrow road and swales on all sides. Sites are level and long once you get onto them.
Stopped en route to campground; easy and quick hike to 4 falls.
All sites are on balconies or decks; 3 levels. Stayed on bottom which was most expensive, but could have saved a few dollars by staying higher which was closer to restrooms. Lake a beautiful blue and very clear. Nice marina that is wooded 1 mile hike to and from campground.
Loved this; was looking forward to doing this for a long time! 1/2 mile hike down to river, then 1/2 mile hike in water along edge of river to falls. Will get very wet just getting there. This was amazing! (Private campground under construction across the street named Old Mill. Should be open soon.)
We love this park, it is like summer camp for all ages. Second time staying here because we enjoy it so much. Nature Center is the central to all the hikes to waterfalls. Pool and zip lines are fun in village. Swimming hole next to cliff near campground is awesome. Summer has concerts at outdoor amphitheatre on Saturday nights. Loop A/E has playground and lots of kids; hard to drag my kids out of here.
Stayed in generator-free loop; kids enjoyed riding around the 11 mile sightseeing loop in the back of the pickup. We saw a bear after the Visitor's Center. Kids loved playing in the mountain creek near camp store, spent hours there moving rocks and building dams and waterfalls. The programs are amazing in GSMNP and the kids love earning their Junior Ranger Badges; they especially loved the salamander hunt. No hook-ups or showers so fill tank and bring lanterns to save battery. Next time we will try Elkmont campground so we can explore Gatlinburg, TN, but will return to Cades Cove.
Beautiful state park in GA, stayed in 11 which was next to river and a pull-thru. 1st loop is open, 2nd loop is shaded, more trees. Near beautiful little town of St. Mary's. Visited Submarine museum and downtown park. Many kids were rocking the area, so we joined in finding and re-hiding rocks.

Made lots of memories, learned a lot and saw cool things in our beautiful country. Met up with Oldfords (springs in FL) and Sampsons (Wrangler and Nashville) which gave us opportunity to share this experience with friends.
Black tank tube separated from trailer in TN; caused a bit of a mess on I-40. Fixed with neon pink duct tape and bungee cords and it lasted the rest of the trip. Got it fixed under factory warranty once we returned since the plastic was scraped up and couldn't be used without leaking. It's all part of the adventure and nothing like the movie RV.
