Sure, it's fun to spend Halloween handing out candy to kids dressed like monsters, but how cool would it be to actually spend the night with one... in a haunted castle... in Transylvania. Yep, that's right; Airbnb is giving away the chance to spend Halloween night sleeping in a velvet-lined coffin in Bran Castle, which has ties to Vlad the Impaler, notorious Count and the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Bran Castle is one of a few castles in Romania linked to the Dracula legend, and even though no one is sure just how much Bram Stoker knew about the building other than its association with Vlad III (aka Vlad the Impaler, inspiration for Count Dracula), it's generally accepted to be the home of the Count. The Medieval fortress that stands today was built sometime in the 1300s, and features imposing stone architecture, creepy passageways, and a position on a mountain that offers incredible views. It was mainly a military base throughout the 1700s and 1800s, and even housed the Romanian royal court in the 1920s and a hospital during WWII. It's seen quite a bit of history, and more than a little violence... which makes it ripe for a haunting, and the perfect place to spend a scary night.
The contest winner and one (brave) friend will get a carriage ride up to the castle, where they'll be greeted by the great-grand-nephew of Bram Stoker. He'll take you on a tour of the castle, showing you the secret rooms, creepy crypts, and tall towers of the property, which is currently a museum. Then, you'll enjoy a candle-lit feast inspired by Bram Stoker's story, and head off to bed. You really do get to sleep in coffins located in the crypt!
To enter, check out this link and just write a quick couple sentences on what you would say to Count Dracula if you came face-to-face with him.

And remember... if you win, no garlic or silver jewelry, and remember to close the curtains before sunrise.
Bonus: If you don't win the chance to crash at Dracula's place for the night, you can always go see his final resting place. Vlad the Impaler's alleged tomb is in and Italian church in Naples, Santa Maria La Nova. Vlad disappeared during battle, and while some believe that he was simply killed, others believe that he was captured and ransomed to his daughter, who had married an Italian nobleman and was living in Naples... it's not a stretch to imagine that Vlad lived out the rest of his life quietly in the city.
This theory is backed up by the fact that researchers recently uncovered a tomb in Santa Maria La Nova that looked quite different than the rest. Medieval scholars suspect that the symbols covering the tomb represent the House of the Transylvanian Carpathians... aka Vlad's family. The only way to confirm the theory? To open the tomb... and hope that they don't awake the Count from his slumber.
