There is nothing more relaxing than the rolling and soft Great Smoky Mountains. The bucolic scenes paired with the sweet wild life makes for a calm trip.
Sedona...what can i say? Sedona is the most magical and life changing destination i have ever experienced. It is quite cliche to speak on the "energy" from being in Sedona but it is a real thing! We woke up in Flagstaff and started our drive down to Sedona. The drive alone was breath taking. When we got to Sedona we parked and hiked down to Red Rock Crossing which provided stunning views of Cathedral Rock with the background noise of a babbling brook. After spending time by the peaceful water we continued on our journey. If i had to pick one word to describe the way the silence paired with the energy made me feel i would choose the word orgasmic. I have never ever heard NOTHING before. My ears felt amazing! There was a solid twenty minutes of hearing nothingness. That is when you can feel the true energy of Sedona. Sadly, this was interrupted by a train in the distance but even that was a beautiful sound.
When i think back on my time spent in Joshua Tree i think it was one of the happiest days i have ever experienced. there is something to be said for the complete vastness of the desert. when you free climb and scramble your way up to the top of a large rock and sit at the top you are reminded just how small we truly are. the desert seems like it stretches on forever and ever and it is almost like being on another planet.
LOVED Torrey Pines State Beach. We did the climb up the mountain and then hiked down to the beach. My favorite part was that you were between two epic natural things the whole time. Large rocky cliffs that seemed like they hung over the beach and then choppy beautiful green waves that just keep crashing on the beach. It's literally like being between a rock and a hard place but the hardest part is deciding which to gawk at! So beautiful and nice exercise before a big Thanksgiving feast!

Peaceful, stunning, breath taking, pictures don't do it justice, words certainly don't do it justice. As far as I am concerned, the only way to understand the amazingness that is the Grand Canyon is to see it for yourself. There is nothing like it and there never will be. The Grand Canyon is the definition of the word AMAZING.
