Overview

Park City is a year-round resort town located on the Eastern (or Back) of the Wasatch Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountain Range in Utah. Altitude in town ranges from 6,720 to 8,460 ft. above sea level. The surrounding Wasatch Mountain rise over 10,000 ft. Probably best known for its skiing and winter season with three world-class ski resorts- Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons Resort and Deer Valley Resort - as well as hosting the annual Sundance Film Festival.

Park City is a beautiful place to go in the winter, or the summer.

Fun Facts

  1. The “Ten O’Clock Whistle” in Park City, was established in 1905 to warn the City’s young people of curfew.. Originally a bell to warn of fire danger, it has since been replaced with an electric siren that still rings every night at 10pm.
  2. Park City is home to the largest film festival in the United States, the Sundance Film Festival, which happens every January when 50,000 celebrities, moviemakers, and film enthusiasts visit the town.
  3. Park City was home to Utah’s first distillery since prohibition. High West’s actual whiskey distilling is now located a few miles out of town, in Wanship, but the original building houses a bar and restaurant. Known for whiskey, this place also claims to be the world’s first ski-in gastro-pub.
  4. Over 100 restaurants are packed into this small town, most of them situated on the picturesque Main St.
  5. Park City transportation, from busses to the Main Street Trolley, is completely free to passengers. There are 9 routes plus the trolley and Dial-a-Ride.
