Reviews
We have camped here for the North Atlantic Blues Festival the last two years. It is located close by and is a descent camp ground. Our arival was quick and easy because we prepaid when leaving last year.
We rented a pull thru site for our 5'er. It was long enough so that we could squeak the truck in on either end but not much else. We had selected site #5 after a walk around last year. The sites are very close together but this one offered a small strip on greenery on the front side of the camper for some extra space. Trailers over 35' or so may be challenging if here for a short stay.
They offer some cabin rentals and tent sites that are virtually on the ocean and would be beautiful. The campground is close to the ocean, very wooded which are nice but it is right on Route 1 so there is significant traffic noise. We recommend you stay further back if possible.

Single lane one way gravel Roads are tight but manageable. Arrival lane is confusing as there are three distinct single lanes. The one you should be in is the left most one to check in. Most sites are reasonably level. Back in sites provide more privacy than pull throughs. Clean and kept up. Noise from highway during daytime. Night time campground was quiet and peaceful even when full on weekend with many kids.
Charges for WiFi, $10 to dump, and washing RV.
There is no ocean access due to rock ledges. You cannot launch a kayak.
There is only one bathroom/shower house not centrally located up near the entrance. Noticed several people taking the long walk to them.
Best feature for us was a steep but very nice landscaped pathway and steps to ocean viewing area. There are only about four or five wooden Adirondack chairs. They provide a nice afternoon shaded place to relax and view the bay while listening to the waves lap at the rocks.

Tight, but great spot on the ocean in the evening. Good stop away from the Acadian crowds

This was our second stay here. It is a very nice well run campground with a great staff. It is located on West Penobscot Bay. The bay is not visible from the campground but there is short trail to the bay and they have built a very nice sitting area with benches, table, and fire pit where you can sit and look out at the water. It is just a few minutes away from Camden and Rockland.
Like most campground located near the water in ME it is fairly tight and many of the sites do not have much privacy. That said we didn't have any trouble getting into the campground and our site with a 35 foot motorhome. Lots of trees so don't expect to get satellite. Verizon signal was week. They have a "Pay" wifi network that is extremely fast. Sites are on grass or dirt but it has good drainage so have never had problems with rain.
If you are close to the highway it is noisy during the day but quiets down at night. It is located just off Rte 1 which is the main coastal road so it is to be expected.

The camp was clean and the staff was nice. The office has firewood and ice and some other essentials. The camp sites were small but not stacked right on top of each other. Electric and water were reliable.
They have a nice area you can walk to that is set up with a sitting area next to the sea. They sometimes have seafood bakes down there.
The camp site was 45/day for electric/water only. A bit expensive. They charged 10 dollars to use the dump station which is novel an annoying simultaneously.
The wifi was non-functioning for our first 5 days and then they fixed it on the final day we were there. It costs $6 per day for wifi :(

Stayed for three nights in our 26’ airstream. Bathrooms and showers were great. The sites were fairly close to each other but pretty typical for a commercial campground. The place slopes down from the entry so I would try to get a spot as close to the sea as possible. It would probably have much less road noise than we had. The sun rose a bit after 5am and the road noise began right at that time. They also had road conditions when we were there which was also noisy, but that was only during normal hours.

The staff was very nice. Grounds were clean but we were very tight in our 37’ RV with an F-150 pickup. Pad was dirt and not very level. Water was on passenger side while electric and sewer were on D/S and not well positioned. We paid $22.95 for Wi-Fi for 4 devices for a week. We weren’t able to stream but had plenty of bandwidth for email, etc.

Stayed at premium tent site section Memorial Day weekend. Sites close together but hardly anyone was there with us (2 other camps filled 2 nights). It’s hike to the bathrooms, but a short walk down a steep trail to the ocean overlook with picnic tables and seating. Ideal location for this campground in my opinion as it’s the furthest from road and no road noise like remainder of campground sites. Amenities are good - pool, volleyball, etc. Bathrooms were consistently maintained and the cleanest of any campground I’ve ever stayed at of this level. Staff friendly and coffee and hot water available in camp store as well. Verizon cell service in some areas of campground - not all.
