“the world's first subterranean playground of its kind”
Trampolines are cool enough, but when you’re jumping underground it takes the fun to a whole different level. Literally. Zip World installed these three giant trampolines as part of Bounce Below in massive caverns in Northern Wales. The trampolines are 20ft, 60ft and 180ft off the ground, respectively. Each trampoline is connected with a slide down to the next one and a walkway back up. Don’t worry, each trampoline was tested to hold massive amounts of weight. Inspired by a similar concept in France, Sean Taylor, owner of Zip World, decided to transform the old Blaenau Ffestiniog slate mine into an underground playground. For £15 a person, you can bounce around these awesome subterranean trampolines. If bouncing around in a giant cavern isn’t fun enough, visitors can also watch a multi-colored LED light show while on the trampolines. But how do you get down to these trampolines, you ask? In a specially built train of course! Before heading down, visitors are required to wear a helmet and protective overalls. There’s no maximum age (thrill seeking seniors rejoice!), but kids have to be at least 7 years old. However, sessions for 5-6 year olds can be scheduled in the mornings. -Roadtrippers Bounce Below is the world's first subterranean playground of its kind – and its here at Zip World Titan. The surreal experience of Bounce Below is set within an historic disused slate cavern, installed with massive bouncy nets to jump around in, unlike anything seen before. These huge trampoline like nets are hung within two vast chambers at varying levels, linked together by walkways and slides, the biggest of which is a 60 foot slide. To add to the already awesome experience, the cavern is lit up with a technicoloured light display that illuminates the cavern with vibrant colours showing off the remains of the Victorian slate mine. The best thing is you can do it all year round! This activity lasts approximately one-hour, and you will be supplied with a cotton overall and safety helmet before being taken to the impressive 200 x 60 foot cavern by an old mining train, where you are free to bounce, climb and slide.
Amazing place, there is nothing else like it!
You do have to pay for each thing individually (zipwires, cave trampolines, bikes) so it can be costly. Also not everything is actually on site so make sure they are providing transport if you are going on titan.
But that said well worth the money!
