Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 19, 2022Weston Bend is a lovely smaller state park campground. Very shady and woodsy. There will be mosquitos in warmer weather. RV sites had electric, and there was water for tank filling at 2 or 3 spots. Very nice clean restrooms and showers. Very clean campground with lots of trees.
The state park (it is quite small) has a nice fenced dog park as well, so your dog can get some exercise off leash.
The town of Weston is close by and is a charming town with lots of history. Good hiking or bike riding trails.
Reservations recommended as it is close to Kansas City, and the reservation system will require a 2 night stay on weekends during the season.

We stayed here a few nights while visiting Kansas City. Easy half-hour drive into the city but peaceful and quiet nights away from the bustle. We had 30 amp power but there's a dump station with potable water at the entrance. Good cell signal, level site, helpful camp hosts and even laundry facilities. A winner!

Check-in was easy, just stop by the self service area and get your card. Entrance gate closes at 9PM, but guests get a gate code. Sites are asphalt and pretty level. 50 amp electric worked great. Each site has a double lantern pole, a fire ring and a picnic table in a gravel patio area. Water is available at several locations, including at dump station (at campground entrance). Some sites are close together but most are separated by woods on at least one side (some on both sides). Main bathroom is modern and clean, has showers and a laundry room. Campground host patrols the area. Wood can be purchased at check-in kiosk. The historic town of Weston, MO is on 2 miles from park entrance. Leavenworth, KS is 8 miles away. There are several trails in the park, including a 3 mile paved trail. Also, has a large fenced in dog park.

Nice smaller state park close to KC, Leavenworth and Weston.
Lots of good hiking, biking and running trails some of which offer pretty cool views of the Missouri River.
Train runs along the River so there is some noise at times but not enough to disturb us.
Good cell signal to work.
Site 9 was really close to 10 and camp host probably ideal for group campsite.
Several water fill stations and dump station on way out.
Very clean restrooms, showers and park!
Would definitely stay here again.

We were just driving through so we didnt do any exploring of the area. This park is very nice. Our site had electricity but no water - which was fine. Very reasonably priced. If you book same-day you dont have to pay the state park $8 entrance fee. Host was very nice and knowledgeable.

Close to I-29, with easy access. All sites are pretty flat, most with electric. Water is available at dump station. Bathhouse is clean, and has laundry. Sites are very shady, and lots of space between each. Nice hiking trail near bathhouse. We loved this place.

We stayed here three nights in June 2022 on Site 28 with a 35' fifth wheel. The Park has a lot to offer, but the campground is very basic. Some sites have electric but none have water. We filled up our fresh water upon entering and then proceeded to our campsite. The campground has very steep hills and our pull-thru site was at the top of one hill and on a curve. It had rained hard and the asphalt was very narrow - and off the asphalt it was deep mud. We jockeyed around for awhile to get situated on the asphalt, and able to open our slides without hitting tree limbs. I wouldn't recommend this site for a long RV. (Also we have a full bed pickup truck) Sites 29, 30 and 31 were long back-ins and preferable.
There is one building that houses the laundry and the restrooms - it was pretty dirty and had a lot of spider webs. There is a bike/hike paved trail, in rough shape, and has some steep climbs and sharp turns. The best biking was on the long Weston Bluffs rail-trail and on the Park roads. We actually rode into town using the Bluff trail and the town of Weston is really nice. We had a great 3 days exploring the area and biking. Nightly rate of $25 plus 1 online reservation fee of $8.50. Easy access from interstate - see Questions. We camped at Weston Bend State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Our second time here, park is nice and well maintained. No check-in, gate code cards at kiosk near camp host site. Sites on the hill are 50 amp, the rest are 30 amp. Water at dump station and several faucets throughout park. Most sites are well separated, with trees in between. Main bathroom is modern and clean with a laundry room. About 8 miles from Leavenworth, KS and 5 miles to Weston, MO. No noise except birds.
AT&T service was good on the hill (site 30) but fair/poor on lower sites (site 11).
