Spokane Creek Resort fit all of our requirements: body of water (creek runs through the property), shade, quiet, electricity and water at most of the sites. It was relatively easy to get to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Keystone, and Crazy Horse. Pool & putt-putt, as well as a cafe and store are on the premises; there's even a mountain you can climb to get a glimpse (take your binoculars!) of Mt. Rushmore. Clean restrooms/shower house along with extremely friendly employees who will give fantastic suggestions of things to see in the area.
At our site, the cell service wasn't great; we were able to send/receive texts but not calls. There is wi-fi; during the week (when there weren't as many people) we were able to get it pretty reliable, but needed to go to the store/office when a lot of people were there.
We just wish we lived closer so we could go back!

Nice little camp ground close to Keystone. Very quiet and clean. There’s a store and cafe that both close very early (7:30pm)

We stayed for a few days during a loop through SD. Great location right outside Custer State Park. Beautiful scenery, clean park, friendly staff. They have a shower house, laundry, pool and convenience store. Very family oriented place. You will have to take it slow the last few miles. The roads are pretty curved, but worth the trip.

Loved this campground! After weeks in desert landscapes the grass and hills were a welcome retreat! They are very dog friendly and not like other places that confine your pets to one or two spots. They offer tent camping, RV sites (all 30 amp) and campsites. They have free put-put, a swimming pool(small but nice) , laundry, showers, visitor center, cafe, coffee, gift shop, and common outdoor areas. Their customer service is excellent. Took just a few moments to check In! Bathrooms are outdated but clean ( and cute in my opinion) The packet of rules they hand you when you check in is overwhelming but all common sense stuff. No service or minimal service but they offer free WiFi that works until it gets overly crowded in the park! The road is known for its curves and steep grades but a 40 ft Class A with tow vehicle made it so most have no problems. Campsite is 10 miles from rushmore and about 5 from Keystone. Family friendly and pet friendly! Owners are awesome, I will be back!

Wonderfull campground with beautiful the Black Hills right at your fingertips. Clean, friendly, and convenient facilities. If you have a larger rig make sure you drive in from the south on 16A or you will be in for a surprise when you hit the first tunnel.

We called last minute and had a spot reserved with in hour. We had an 26ft Rv and a truck which slept 9 people. For 2 adults and 5 kids it would have been $42, but with the extra 2 adults it was $62 for full hook ups. We also had 3 dogs. The shower house was very clean with hot water. The laundry was in the bathrooms. It cost $2.25 per load for the washer and $2.25 for the dryer. It didn’t clean as it would at home but got the job done. There is a nice little coffee shop that is decent and prices aren’t outrageous. There is also a small pool, play ground and mini golf onsite. The location was perfect. We had to drive through Custer State Park and we seen all kinds of wild life. It definitely made the experience. All in all it was a quite family friendly camp ground. We would definitely come back in the future. It also 11 miles from Mt Rushmore. WiFi was available but it was spotty.

We really enjoyed our stay here July of 2019. Sites were not spacious but we spent most of our days on the go. Convenient cafe and just at the base of the iron mountain road. Some sites do not have fire pit due to proximity to the state forest. Pool was ICE cold lol. We didn't have good cell service. We were in 2 different spots- they worked to accommodate us with a last minute reservation- full hook up site dump was slightly uphill but oh well.

Pros - Great location to explore Custer State Park and to ride/drive the Iron Mountain Road. Roads into the park are gravel but well maintained. Sites are grassy but level and there are approximately 10' between sites. There are some full hookup sites but ours was W/E only, which was conveniently located and worked well. The dump station is also conveniently located and they supplied a wash out hose. There is a nice convenience store and restaurant on-location (the pizza was delicious!!). All of the camp hosts were friendly and attentive to any needs. They have a nice putt-putt golf for the kids, horseshoe pits, and a small swimming pool.
Cons - The road getting to the park is not big rig friendly and IMO almost dangerous due to the hair pin curves and lack of shoulders (not the RV parks fault at all). We drove from Hwy 40 to the Playhouse Road and connected to the Iron Mountain Road. From there is was only a short half mile to the RV park. Bathrooms at the park were worn and old as well as the laundry facilities.
We stayed here in a 40' MH and would not stay here again simply because of the roads to get there. We would look along Hwy 385 next time.

We arrived late, and it was difficult to navigate in the rain, but we loved it so much that we came back another night. This is a perfect location to see Custer and Mt. Rushmore. The owner was very helpful in showing us where to visit and make the most use of our time.
