Reviews
Bathrooms very dated and not especially clean. We were in site 11 and the distance between the water hookup and sewer was at least 30’ making it impossible to flush the RV tank unless you had a VERY long slinky and/or sewer water hose.
Convenient location right off of 240 loop.
View of the Badlands was really awesome. We were there in mid September so mostly adults. The campground is around 3 miles to the Badlands visitor center so if your into hiking it is really convenient. The operators, Rick and Dawn are really great and do everything possible to make your stay as good as possible. It’s is about 70 miles to Mount Rushmore and Custor State park via Hwy 44 which has little traffic and views are quite beautiful. It was a bit windy being on the outside edge of the campground towards the prairie but well worth the view. They are pet friendly, and restroom / Showers are very clean.
Everything about this park was great! The owners were nice and the location was perfect. We showed up and snagged a last minute spot for the week with full hookups. They also offer tent sites. WiFi worked sporadically, but Verizon and ATT worked well with the cell booster. Bathrooms were clean and laundry was reasonably priced. Far drive to a decent grocery store so come prepared! Great spot, we’ll definitely go back! Camped 9/9-9/16
Had a 50 amp site reserved. Got to the park and checked in. I was given 4 sites to pick from. All 4 had the services on the door side and at the very end of the site. I don’t have an extra 50’ of 50 ext cord so I went back and told them a different site or we want to get our money back and go on down the road. He gave us a end site which was nice. Fire ring and picnic table. Bad thing it was 30 amp. Good deal it wasent hot so we didn’t need the 50 amp. Place was a little dirty and loose gravel sites and drive. Pool was a above ground and had a deck wrapping around it.
This turned out to be an excellent place to camp out for the week and work. Site 31 is a prime spot because you are near the back of the campground and have unobstructed views of the Badlands NP! Gravel pads with little grassy spots made for level parking and a nice morning yoga spot.
The sites are fairly close together but during my stay in September, it was never full. I also found that most people were only here for 1 or maybe 2 nights.
Free wifi, although sometimes spotty on my phone, never had a problem with connecting on my laptop though. The cell service was occasionally spotty too, but never had problems making phone calls.
The bathrooms here were well-maintained and good hot water in the showers. The office also has a small store and small restaurant for breakfast and dinner (Th-M). I didn't eat there so I can't vouch for the food quality.
The walk into the tiny town of Interior is about 10 minutes. There is a bar, gas station, post office, and a small grocery store. It is about 2 miles from the Badlands NP entrance, not really walkable cause it is the highway but a very quick drive.
The sunrises, sunsets, and stars here are amazing! I would definitely return to this location!
Great RV camp with easy access to Badlands park. We had full hookup, but they do have power and water only sites for less $, and a dump site on the property. Views from every site. Gravel, level sites with picnic tables, fire pit and some trees. A very peaceful and restful RV park.
The electrical for our site is 30 amp only, but it wasn't a problem for us.
The only reason I gave the site quality a four star is due to the gravel drive in. This may be necessary because of the harsh winters and frost heaves or perhaps the excessive summer heat.
This campground is clean and quiet. Nice view of the Badlands and not much road noise. Nice staff. Good hook ups. Easy in and out. They do have a small restaurant but we didn't go in.
Great location right near the National Park. We didn't feel particularly welcome at check-in. We didn’t use the showers, but a neighbor did and said they were, “Not as bad as some I’ve seen.” Laundry was okay. We would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view and cool breezes, but between the mosquitoes and the gnats, we had to stay inside with the windows closed.

Gravel roads & pads is not an issue, this is not standard loose gravel. Feels like concrete and must have been road roller (steamroller) compacted.
Friendly (if bored) staff. All facilities are well maintained but do show their age.
Suggest you make a reservation . . . busy place.
Arrive with your Fridge fill . . . small market in Interior is about like a truck stop store.
wi-fi has been good however CG only 1/2 full.
Nice place to camp to sight see !!. Nice sites, had water and electric. Very nice dog friendly park with a nice dog walking area. Would definitely come here again.
