Lovely, a bargain at $15. Right on a river, lots of trees, picnic tables, wooden bench swings. Decent Verizon coverage for me for phone and Wifi. Very level spot, at least number 2. Complete hookups. Arrived about 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday, and there were several spots available.

We stayed here for one night and the only reason we didn’t stay longer is that it was too cold and pouring rain! We were in a tent. Most if not all the RV sites were taken but we came in on Saturday evening and got a tent site. They told us they have bathrooms and showers but we didn’t see them. The campground is right on the river and right next to a nature and science discovery center which was pretty awesome. There is road noise but the campground itself was fairly quiet. The staff at the nature center was very friendly.

Got here late after calling. They don't take reservations but have a large overflow area with a central service pole. I arrived after closing and found a site along the river. Had 30 Amp & water. Site was a level back-in spot. Had 2 private bathrooms w/showers about 100 yards from camp. Large busy playground during the day. Unfortunately I was there on a Saturday night after close so I didn't get to check-out the nature center (opens 1 PM Sunday)
If you're traveling I-96 this campground is 50 minutes east. Groceries and Lowes 3 miles.

The rates have just gone up as of Jul 1. It is now $20/day. It has been great and they even had the city fireworks right here at the campground on the 4th. The staff was friendly and the campground is well maintained by the groundskeepers. I recommend this campground for anyone passing through. Maximum stay is 30 days.

The campground is right on the river in town. Trees around the road side of the campground plus trees across the river help give a sense of separation from the city. Sites are dirt but have full hookups. Restrooms and showers are quite a ways away - on the other side of the nature center, perhaps 150 yards. The staff is very friendly.

We arrived on Monday when the nature center (where one is instructed to register) is closed. A call to the posted number of administration provided the info to register on Tuesday morning. When this was brought up we were told that normally there is a campground host but he was off that week.

No sign direct campers to the restrooms/showers and. they are normally locked. A $5 deposit for a key is required at registration.

City noise is present. Train tracks are located somewhere across the river and the whistle is loud.

The nature center is well done and the park provides lots of opportunities for families.

Unrestricted wi-fi is available.

A beautiful campground right on the Nuese River with 3 stocked public fishing lakes a short walk away! It has a well maintained playground for kids, a free museum and planetarium, and just down the road a beautiful fenced in dog park! 20 bucks a night with full (50 amp) hookups and sewer make this a remarkable find that is just a little over 2 hours from the OBX!

20 bucks gets you a full hookup with with 30 & 50 amp electric. The park is small with 32 sites. This was on our route but would def stay again. Biked into town and went to nice brewery on a pond with a disc golf course. Park is on the river and could be prone to flooding but no issue while we stayed.

Really enjoyed my time there. Right on the river, close to grocery stores, quiet, very relaxing. Such an amazing community of people. Had 5g with Verizon as well.

Saw this park via Campendium and decided to stay here prior to our arrival in New Bern. We were pleasantly surprised. There are some primitive sites in the back of the area and since we are self contained, we decided that would be a good spot for us. There were more people in the spots up at the front of the campground, as those were full service. Most of those sites were occupied or otherwise blocked off. They do offer potable water and a dump station. (There is a small few for that if you are not camping here.)
The nice thing is it is all situated right on the Neuse River and adjacent to the Nature Center which has nice live animal exhibits and mounts, a park for children and a small trail through the woods. It’s also extremely close to town for restaurants, museums and shopping.
Very quiet during the night and lots of birds chirping in the morning. Everyone we met associated with the campground and nature center were extremely nice. The only con is that there are a few sites that look a little junky - that is the people staying there, not the sites themselves. But you never know what people are dealing with so I can overlook it. Will definitely stay here again.
