Reviews
In a quiet rural setting a short distance off of I-44 this park makes a good place to stop-over when traveling between St. Louis and Tulsa or Oklahoma City. Trees provide good shade and a relaxing place to camp. The facilities are very well cared for and clean. They have just made improvements to their free wireless network.
If you have time, drive into the town of Carthage. It's along historic Route 66 and has a cool, old town square.

This campground was nice, overall, and if you're in that area needing a place to stay, I would recommend it.
We had one issue with our neighbor who lived there stationary full-time (and had a boot on his trailer) Their gray water was leaking and it smelled in the thick July heat while we were there. They were moved away from us thankfully after we complained, but they were moved over to be next to someone else who I felt bad for. Apparently that leaking trailer has been there for three+ years and doesn't show any signs of leaving soon, so if you stay here just make sure you're not put in a site next to a trailer with a boot on it and you'll be fine. :)
Everything else was nice, especially for the monthly price. The showers were fairly clean (just a little mildew), the several washer/dryers worked so long as you only filled them about halfway, the landscaping is very pretty, and everyone is friendly.
The Precious Moments Chapel/Museum is pretty amazing, and all the Route 66 stuff nearby is fun too. There's not much else around, but it is all very peaceful and quiet. :) If you stay for a month, which we did, beware the high electricity costs though and conserve!

We camped here for a long weekend. The campground was clean and the staff very friendly. There isn't a pool or a lot to do at the campground, but it is quiet and if you are looking just to relax, it's a great place. They are redoing some of the premium sites and so they don't match the current map. We had site #6 which had W/E/S and it's own fire pit. We would camp here again.

Park was very nice and clean. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Lot was gravel and level. Water pressure was a little on the low side but we were still able to fill our tanks with it. Above rate reflects the nice Discounts they give for veterans. The bad parts were Some traffic noise from the highway and a sour rotten smell from a nearby plant of some sort If wind was blowing in the right direction

I cannot give an in-depth review of this park. I arrived after dark in the dead of winter and was back on the road well before sunrise. With that said, I was very pleased with my stay here. They were very nice on the phone when I made my reservation. They even moved me to a better spot as the heavy snow and ice on the trees made my original spot a clearance problem. The internet was great. Campground was not far from the expressway yet VERY quiet. My gravel location was quite level. My impression was that, during warmer weather it would be a very nice place to spend several days.

Tonight we’re at “The Big Red Barn RV Park” in Carthage MO ad it is an absolute Norman Rockwell kinda place! Trees, trees, pine cones lots of leaves on the ground – oh and did I mention the trees? Fifty+ long, level, gravel full hookup sites with cable TV and we got two bars on ATT. There is WiFi however you could probably walk to Google in Mountain View and get an answer to a search faster than typing it in here – and it doesn’t matter because the vibe here is relaxed and comfortable. We paid $48 for the night and it is worth every penny!

Just a very short drive north of I-40. Stopped here for one night and was pleasantly surprised. Easy in and drove directly to site 22. It was late Labor Day, but owner assigned spot and took payment over phone. Graveled but smooth and level site. Good water pressure. Highly recommend.
