It's a bit outside of town but not too far and very close to Custer State Park. Easy entrance/exit. Spaces were long (they are a horse ranch as well as RV park so they are set up for bigger rigs) with plenty of space between. a few trees but none getting in the way of slides. our site wasn't level side to side so we ended up having wheels off the ground which isn't great. WiFi was really good where we were but I gather it can be spotty further away from the office.
Way too many yapping dogs during the day, but not the park's fault, though they do not have a "keep your dog quiet" policy.

Justin was super friendly and knowledgeable about local things to do. He told us the best way to see mt Rushmore through the tunnels, needles highway and lakes to kayak at Custer state park. Easy in and out with big rig. We have 43ft. Fifth wheel. Cool place with stables for horses.

I was skeptical booking a stay at this c.g. because we don’t own a horse or horse trailer (LOL), but all reservations disappeared when we pulled into the establishment. The grounds are meticulously kept; no manure smell; away from all the congestion of town, yet conveniently close to everything, and quiet!!!!
The sites have just enough shade but not too much as to damage your rig, big rig friendly, and moderately spacious for privacy.
When booking our stay I spoke with Vicki and Dan (the owners), and they couldn’t be more accommodating to extend our stay at the last minute. This is an all-around great park.

Best campground we have ever stayed in!!! Plenty of room between rigs, super clean, beautiful setting, and friendly owners and helpers. Site WI-FI was very good.
Owners and helpers honor God and country. Can't ask for more than that.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The campground primarily seems to cater to horse owners. But, everyone is welcome. We, ourselves do not own horses. The campground is beautiful, clean and very well maintained. The location is also ideal for access to Mt. Rushmore, The Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park and other other attractions. It’s also close to local grocery stores and restaurants in Custer. We would definitely stay here again.
This has got to be the most amazing campground we have ever stayed at! They were so friendly and had everything right there on site, including laundry facilities. Definitely a great place, especially if you have horses!

We are 10 days into our 3 week stay and we absolutely love everything about this campground. The grounds are spotless and well maintained. The owners are super nice and always around for any questions or just a chat. I know it's actually called Broken Arrow Horse & RV Camp, but I didn't realize just how much they focus on horses.
We are not horse people, so I was a little concerned we'd be the outsiders and unwanted. I quickly learned that wasn't the case. Everyone here is super nice and welcoming and it's such a treat to walk around and see all the different beautiful horses. My husband and I work full-time from our RV (great cell/wifi) and just about when we are fed up with work, we hear the horses chatting with each other and it makes us laugh. The stables are also spotless.
The views of the mountains from the campground are beautiful. The location is perfect with only a few quick minutes into the town of Custer or Custer State Park. Decent-sized lots with easy in/out.

Big sites with full hookups. Great location close to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Jewel Cave National Monument and Wind Cave National Park. Campground has barns for you to bring your own horses. Or they will organize a trail ride for you. Beautiful setting outside of the town of Custer. CLEAN bathrooms, showers and laundry.

We weren’t sure what to expect staying at a horsemen’s camp, but it couldn’t have been nicer or more convenient! The facilities were modern and perfectly maintained. Golf cart drivers came around daily to collect garbage or sell wood. This is THE best shower house we’ve ever used! We got an RV spot with water & electric for $24/night. We also booked a tent site with them through AirBnB. The people (owners and other guests) were all very friendly. One invited our 11-year-old grandson to feed her horse carrots. But this was a MATURE campground; no fireworks, drunkenness, or loud noise (even before quiet hours). At sundown, everything stopped. We weren’t bothered by any mosquitoes, but there are some flies at a horse camp. Very minor. All the attractions we visited were within a half hour drive; Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Wind Cave, Custer State Park (with the buffalo and mules), the 1880’s Train in Hill City. The campground doesn’t offer horse rides, but they referred us to a local stable that arranged a trail ride perfectly matched to our abilities. The campsites were clean and level. The whole camp was extremely well run. If I’m ever in the area again, I look forward to coming back.

Lovely campground! It's close to Custer and Wind Cave, as well as some other attractions. Excellent showers at the camp and even an outdoor kitchen area with grills and a place to do dishes. There is so much to do and see in the area. The owners are the nicest and most helpful people. They gave us suggestions on where to go with our bikes we brought. This is more of a horse camp, however we didn't have a horse and there are other people that stay as well that don't have one. So don't be swayed by that! It's an amazing place to stay and I can't wait to go back!
