“enjoy a welcome break from city life”
Do you like relaxing in the shade of oak trees? Are you happy when camping in a beautiful grassy setting surrounded by 2500+ acres of Conservation Land? Are evening campfires and chatting with other campers on your list of camping like-to-dos? Do you feel the need to 'detox' from the internet and cell phone? Do you want to be close to floating rivers, trout fishing, caves, wineries, and Route 66? Then try camping at Pheasant Acres RV Park in the Foothills of Missouri. Please NOTE: We feel it best to let you know before you arrive, that internet/wi-fi connections are not guaranteed here...but offered free. Instead of being glued to your TV, we suggest enjoying an evening of campfire gazing while munching on s'mores. You might find that you sleep better and feel better 'unplugged.' What do you have to lose? Or better yet, look what you have to gain! We are an RV park campground - not a resort - for camping in your RV, Pop-up, Truck Camper, or Motorhome. We do not use the word resort because we are not a resort. We cater to campers that love the out of doors, campfires, trout fishing, hunting, following the wine trail, exploring local caves, and checking out the waterfalls, old mills, and wild horse herds at Eminence, Mo for great photographic moments. Covid has forced us to require all RVers to be fully self-contained which means using your own RV showers and restroom. That ensures your personal safety It could be that Pheasant Acres RV Park is the place you can enjoy camping for a weekend or more. Many of our campers return to camp more than once a season. We are proud to say we have campers that camped here as children with their parents and now they return with their own children to enjoy the beauty of the Foothills of the Ozarks. PARV is open year-round. Our busy season is from April through October. And yes!...we take reservations up to a year in advance. PARV is surrounded by 2500+ acres of forested Conservation Land adjacent to Dry Fork Creek and the Upper Meramec River. It offers rolling hillsides for bow hunting in season, hiking, photographing, and nature study. We are near six local wineries and a craft brewery. But there's more...really? Caves to explore, 5th largest spring in Missouri, three rivers to float, Dillard's Mill, Onondaga Cave, Fort Leonard Wood, nearby Historic Route 66, great restaurants, and we are located right on the Northern Route of the Trail Of Tears. But the real reason we exist is for trout fishing - for Rainbows and Brownies - which is just a short 2 miles from us at Maramec Spring Park, one of the four Missouri State trout parks that is open year-round. Whether it's for a short and or long-term stay, we hope to see you play! We're pet-friendly for friendly pets. We limit to 2 dogs who must be leashed, up-to-date on shots, and cleaned up after. We do not allow visitors to bring dogs, only our guests.

Full hook ups for $27. The owner, Cheryl was awesome ! There are 24 sites here & it's about 5 miles off of I-44, so nice and quiet. Cell coverage was good with Verizon Mi-Fi. No cable but several stations. Very clean and cute !
Would definitely stay here again, we enjoyed very much. Did not use restroom or shower so can not comment on those.

We had planned on Boondocking somewhere else. At about 9pm we realized we would not be able to. We called and they took us right in. Gave us a pull through so wouldn’t have to back in in the dark. In the morning we could finally see what and adorable site it is. Not far off of I44 but far enough that you feel like your in the country. Very clean! Shuttles to fishing sites. Definitely keeping this site on my favorite list.

We stayed here for an overnight while traveling cross county on I-44. We often seek out quiet campgrounds away from train tracks and interstates as we traverse the country. We really do not like those “easy off/easy on” campgrounds that are assaulted all night long by highway or train noise.
By this criteria, this small campground fit the bill perfectly. There are no amenities except for peace and quiet, shade and an amazingly friendly and helpful owner. It is so quiet as I write this review that the only sound I hear are the crickets and an owl off in the distance.
This would also be an excellent base for a longer stay if one wanted to explore the area in greater depth.
The sites are the standard size for a good commercial campground and offer sufficient space to enjoy sitting outdoors. The utilities all worked properly.
Our 38 foot Motorhome had no problem with our back in site. A larger Motorhome or fifth wheel might have some issues. If you have a larger rig, make sure to discuss this with the owner as you book your site. She is quite familiar with the various sites in her CG and can competently advise you of your prospects.
Both Verizon and T-Mobile were fast enough to stream video.
We will definitely stay here again!

I reserved via RoverPass online. I received a follow-up email prior to my arrival assigning me site #3. When I arrived that site had a large trailer in it so I just parked in an adjacent spot and tried to get in touch with Sherry the owner via the number provided. It went to voicemail but she arrived about 10 minutes later to sort things out. When I tried to hook up my 30 amp surge protector in the spot I was parked in, it gave me an "open ground" error and wouldn't let current through. Apparently, several sites on the interior of the loop were newly wired with 50 amp and there was an issue. Sherry was very apologetic, contacted her electrician (apparently the problem is in the pre-wired electric pedistals) and moved me to a regular 30 amp site which was much more level as well.
Once that was sorted out (it was nearly 100 F that day) the stay was fine. I dropped by in December 2021 to check the place out and was suitably impressed to return for a stay. It's not a fancy park but lovingly decorated and reasonably maintained. There were perhaps about another half-dozen campers. Several of them let their dogs wander off leash but were attentive to make sure they didn't go too far. One thing I missed was a nice walking trail in the woods immediately to the right of the park as you enter. It's a lovely area of the state with several more camping areas down the road. My main reason for visiting the area are the fantastic Forest City MTB Trails just east of St. James. The parking area is small and not really RV friendly but OK for smaller rigs. It's a great trail system.
Cellular was fine with AT&T 21 dl & 5 ul.
