We stayed here one night and loved it. Our sight was in the primitive camping area (40) and it was quiet next to Beaver Pond (although the bull frogs chirp all night, not that we minded). The beach is beautiful and easy to walk to from the site. The covered bridge and Hyde Hall are great places to walk to as well. Would stay here again

From the professional, friendly staff and quiet, spotless park to the fellow campers and campsites, one of our favorite spots. Sites are spaced well for privacy, bathrooms/showers are clean, sites are level and include table, fire ring and grill, water is available throughout the camping area for filling containers, easy in/out dump station with drinking water available for filling RV tanks. Nice trails, playgrounds for kids, beach and picnic areas and everything is landscaped and maintained beautifully. Short drive to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this park. After reading other reviews, we opted to stay in the primitive sites with no hookups and so glad we did! We were the only campers over there and it was so beautiful and relaxing. We had several deer come and graze close to the camper at dawn and dusk and lots of other wildlife close. There were also hundreds of fireflys around us at night; such a treat. There is a plethora of trails to walk with the dogs and the park in general was incredibly clean. We did have lots of ticks on us and the dogs after the walk, so be prepared. Also, they recquire proof of immunizations for all pets, so have that handy.

Glimmerglass is a beautiful state park. The campground isn't too big. Sites are nicely spaced, there is some vegetation between sites. Everyone in the office was friendly. We stayed in site 28, it was very unlevel. Most sites looked unlevel. Bathrooms were a bit messy (water all over the floor from shower). Aside from that (and some neighbors playing music all day long) we enjoyed our stay. The actual state park and Ostego Lake are gorgeous. A few nice hiking trails. Close to The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. We stayed mid-September so the beach was deserted. The primitive sites looked like they would be fun places to camp.

Stopped on a Tuesday evening around 4:00 as a walk-in. Plenty of spots. I’m sure it gets busy on the weekends. Got a nice shaded spot in the primitive camping section (I car camp in my Subaru so don’t need electric) but was told that there was an electric spot still open also. Picked a spot fairly close to the beach area so I could easily walk to the nicer bathrooms (regular toilets with showers) compared to the port-a-potties at the pond campsites. Swimming area at the lake and several nice hiking trails here. Saw several deer. Has the oldest covered bridge in the country here and is close to Cooperstown for baseball stuff and restaurants/shops. Would definitely come back.

This is a very nice state park. Very quiet, shady, and clean. We were surprised to see Cooperstown was so busy. We did not think there would be much here. We had lunch in town amongst lots of baseball families in Cooperstown. Our receptionist, Kristi, went out of her way to get us in a wonderful site for an additional 2 nights, even though we had booked only 1 night thru Campendium.com.

This is a great park in a quiet part of the state. It's a small park with only 39 sites (electric only), but that accentuates its atmosphere. Our site was great and unique in that the awning side of our site didn't have a neighbor for over 100 feet. The mix of trees and grassy areas is very nice and the setting is quite pleasant. There is a beach on Otsego Lake in the day use part of the park, though the sand is bit too much dirt. But the lake is beautiful. Cooperstown is a short drive away.
We really enjoyed this park. It was a nice peaceful and restful setting. We'd definitely stay here again.

Beautiful campground at N end of Otsego Lake, only 15min from Cooperstown on a cool windy road thru woods along E lakeshore. Great location to explore area.
Camped In site #12, 30amp. No water or sewer at site but potable water spigots in loop and central dump station. Most sites seem fairly level gravel. Alota trees in this loop but park keeps them trimmed back, so we had no risk of roof or side scraping. Could see glimpses of shimmering lake thru trees but loop not on lake. There are tent sites much closer to lake and beach area.
Beach area is cool, with decent sand, lifeguard stations, kayak+ rentals, store and restrooms. Many nice benches and shaded picnic tables with bbqs. Number of cool twisted gnarly trees along E side of shore with unique lake views.
A couple hiking trails in the park. And definitely checkout the lake views from Hyde Hall mansion and the oldest covered bridge in the country.
They do have active bear warnings in park but we only saw couple deer, lotsa squirrels and chipmunks, otter and couple day old bear scat on Sleeping Lion Trail.

Great friendly and responsive park staff. Very clean facilities. Stayed in the “primitive” sites with easy access to the outhouse and water spigot. Beach area is well kept and plenty of picnic tables. Shower facilities are wonderful with hot water- just a bit of a walk from the primitive sites (in the RV section). Great hiking trails through the park. Not far from Cooperstown and the baseball hall of fame!
