All sites have water views, next to boat launch and a picnic area. Sites are all gravel and access roads asphalt. showers and bathrooms are convenient, lots of seasonal campers. All very friendly.

Up bound boats (west bound) turn directly towards c/g to stay in channel headed to lock. Seems like they turn away at 50', a bit unnerving at first. Fun to watch them come and go from around the world. On foggy days, of which there are many up here, you hear them coming at you and just as you see them they turn away and dissolve into the fog again, fog horns fading into the white.

A very nice park staffed by youngsters who are helpful in a city that is friendly and energetic.

This is a very popular campground, and the waterfront spots are almost always full. Reservations are recommended especially during the summer. We met several people who come back every year, in the same spot, for months at a time. We “site hopped” when we visited as we kept trying to get on the water. With persistence, we did score with 2 sites! Due to the creative layout of the sites, you can see water, albeit fragmented, from just about any site. It was a common site to see people running up to the river to take pictures of the freighters as they passed by :) And the freighters are mesmerizing to watch! The sites themselves are fairly level and most are quite large. In fact, it's a challenge in some to figure out exactly where your site starts and ends. All sites have water and 30 amp. A handful of sites have 50 amp. There is a dump in the park. Interior roads are decent with somewhat large boulders set in various places that need to be avoided. We could never get the WII FI to work even with our extender. Verizon coverage is great, and we had no issue with attempts to connect to Canadian towers. Directv satellite worked without any problem. It was very windy when we were there, and I don't know if that is a common occurrence or not. The temperature was perfect anywhere between the 60's and low 70's. Cute, but touristy, downtown area. Very easy to bike downtown. We stayed here in a motorhome and will definitely return. A nice day trip is a drive out to Paradise and Whitefish Point. It's interesting to visit the museum and learn about the shipwrecks that have occurred at Whitefish Point. There is a fee to enter the museum or any of the buildings and an extra fee (“donation”) to climb the lighthouse. There is a nice beach area but I would recommend bug spray as the flies were biting. Also, stop by The Inn Gastropub and Smokehouse in Paradise for lunch or dinner. Very good and creative food.

When we arrived, we checked in and walked over to check out our site, which had a popup in it. So, we returned to the office and they attempted to contact the owner and got voice mail. They found us a site to park our fifth wheel in, with electric so we could run our AC for our cat, and we unhooked and headed into town for lunch. By the time we were done, our site was available, so we headed back to get settled in. The sites are fairly close together and there are very few trees for privacy or shade. We didn't manage to score a waterfront spot, but we weren't that far and could glimpse the freighters from our window.

Our site had 50 amp and water, but some are 30. Most appear to be fairly level, but the pad aren't always clearly defined. We couldn't use our firepit, since we were almost on top of it, but others had placement that was better. Big rigs work well here, but some spots are more friendly that others.

We managed to connect to the wifi, but it wasn't worth using at our site. We had 2 bars and LTE with AT&T, so I was happy. Nothing overhead, so our Dish satelite worked great. The showers were nice and restrooms clean, we didn't look at the laundry room, but they have one. There is a playground for kids in the center of one of the loops, swings and a slide, nothing fancy.

We enjoyed the town, lots of souvenir shops and a few good places to eat. The locks are the highlight of town and we watched a 1000' freighter go through, pretty cool.

I wouldn't consider this an amazing park, but the location is great and it's got a nice view. If you want privacy and trees or activities and a pool, you won't get it here. But, I don't think you'll find that anywhere close to here.

I would give this place 3 stars if we didn't have a water-view. Sites aren't private and they're relatively close together.

I called multiple times in January to make a reservation but never got a call back. In March I decided to give it another shot and emailed roger_auneosborn@yahoo.com. I received a response 4 days later at which time, no waterfront sites were available, but we were still able to get a site that had a partial water view.

On our 2nd Saturday night here, there was very loud music playing from somewhere outside of the campground for hours, going as late as 1am. We had to put on our air conditioner to block out the sound.

Over the air HDTV channels included the major networks.

We didn’t have a river site, but still had a view of the river and the ships. Sites are fairly close together, but our site was level. Nice restrooms and shower areas. Free WiFi,but signal very weak and really only works near the office. The ships are the reason to stay here. You can see them from the rv park and the locks are a short distance away. You can see what ships are coming. Where they are headed and what they are carri g a trip boatnerd.com. You hear ship horns at night. Our site was near a road which was quite busy and noisy.

Had a corner non water front site but could still see the ships go bye. Very nice restrooms and shower facilities. Great staff and good WiFi for most stuff. The water front sites would be the nicest to book if possible. Will definitely stay there again.

Others give a very accurate description of the layout and amenities. For us in our little teardrop, the best thing was the bathhouse! It was one of the best we’ve ever had at a campground. Extremely clean, good hot water, excellent showers.

This is close to a 5 star county campground. Excellent bathhouse and laundry. The sites are mushy after a rain as they are a mixture of rock, grass, and dirt. IF they were paved, this is a 5 star rating for me. The premium sites next to the river are worth the few extra dollars in price. I woke up in the middle of the night and watched a 1000 foot freighter slide by my bedroom window. TIP: Get a free maritime app that shows the ships location in real time so you know when the next one is coming.

The park was easy to find. It is located just off of Riverside Drive. There is pavement all the way until you hit the interior roads. The park is Big rig friendly. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic but one being, No motor homes are allowed to NOSE INTO a site.

Our site, 39, was a back in that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. We were one row back from the view of Saint Mary’s River so we could easily see the Great Lakes Freighters as they sailed by. Services (30 amp, and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is fair for an urban park. There is NO privacy barrier at any of the sites. Site surface is asphalt paving just long and wide enough for a rig. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was .

The park included wifi worked reasonably well for a campground of it’s size. There is no cable TV. We did get some OTA TV. Satellite wouldn’t be a problem as there are no trees to interfere. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean.

There is a small store across the street from the park but no restaurants restaurants within easy walking distance. A short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $40.00 for the night we stayed (which included the $8.00 reservation fee) and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again. Be advised, this is a very popular park. Reservations are strongly recommended. We would liked to have stayed longer but it was not possible.

You are right on the river and just down the road from the Soo Locks. The staff are very friendly and bath House and rest rooms were super clean very nice. The site was gravely grass and perfectly level.
