“A campground with awe-inspiring beauty”

Before the Going-to-the-Sun Road opened for vehicle traffic, Two Medicine was an extremely popular destination for visitors. Still holding it's majestic beauty, Two Medicine is now a quiet and peaceful location in Glacier National Park, located approximately 13 miles from East Glacier. Sites are on a first-come, first-serve basis.Sites within the campground at Two Medicine are generally shaded by trees, and offer some privacy from other campers. 13 sites up to 32 feet offer RV campers the opportunity to spend time in Two Medicine. Potable water is accessible in the campground, and restroom facilities are equipped with flush toilets and sinks with running water. Be sure to join a ranger for nightly evening programs at the amphitheater within the campground. Please see our ranger guided activity schedule for more information.

We loved our stay here. Tucked away in remote corner of the park. Awesome scenery, great hiking, and wildlife viewing.

We saw bigger than 32 foot rigs in some sites by the lake,

This is one of our very favorite campgrounds ever. It is simply stunning. There are no hook-ups - this is dry camping only. There are three different times during the day when you can run generators, and one section of the campground is generator-free. There are no reservations - sites are first-come-first-served only. Glacier posts the times that the campgrounds fill up every day on their website, so you have a good idea of how early you need to get there in order to get a spot. Our RV is 35 feet long and there are many sites that we could have fit in, and that could accommodate larger rigs also. The campground itself is gorgeous, and there are a few hikes that can be accessed right from the campground. A short bike ride or drive away is the boat launch where you can access other trails or ride the boat to the other side of the lake. There is zero cell service here - it's a complete dead zone. If you need a signal you'll need to drive about 30 minutes from the campground.

Two Medicine was our favorite campground in Glacier National Park! The campground is on a first come, first serve basis, but we had several sites to choose from on a busy Saturday afternoon in mid June. The campground has potable water, no electrical hookups and sites 1-36 are generator free. There were many shaded sites as well as sites out in the open to charge solar panels. Most of the sites were pull through, and site 35 fit our 26 travel trailer and truck snugly. There were bigger 30 foot rigs there while we camped, and the campground says they have 10 sites that will fit up to 35 foot rigs. There was zero Verizon service at this campground. The campground runs as a wilderness area and you can get fined for collecting dead wood for your fire.

The campground surrounds Pray Lake and offers stunning views of Sinopah Mountain. Close to site 100, there is a small bridge that crosses Two Medicine Creek. The bridge takes you to a handful of trailheads ranging from 2 - 6 miles in length. A short walk out of the campground will take you to park led boat tours of Two Medicine Lake, a camp store, and another hiking trail.

We should mention that we also camped here in mid May with our trailer. The campground only opens sites 1-36 during mid April until mid June and has a gate in place not allowing rigs to go further into the campground. Right past site 36 is an area for RV's to turnaround. There is also a parking lot right beside the gate and site 36, that if full, makes it hard to turn your rig around. We suggest pulling your rig into the picnic area, or in the parking area across from sites 1-5, and walking to check out sites 33-36.

This is a beautiful part of Glacier National Park. The lakes are so scenic and this part of the park is not as busy as the west side. Even though the National Park website says that this is a quieter part of the park, we found the competition for first come first served sites quite fierce when we visited in July. So you'll need to get there early to score a desirable spot.

We found some of the sites a little tight, in fact we couldn't get into ours fully because of two trees that pushed us outside of our comfort zone!

The main reason to be here is the lake itself and the hiking around the lake is beautiful. There is zero cell service of any kind here, but we did get some out in East Glacier village. We stayed for just two nights to explore this area then moved on to the West side of the park.

BTW there is a cafe in East Glacier that advertises "World Famous Huckleberry French Toast" - the world-famous claim may be a stretch - but this is to die for. Make sure you get a hike in first because it is about a zillion calories

This is one of our favorite places to camp to date. Our site was right on the edge of a creek and was quiet. The view was incredible. The Going to the Sun Road was the scariest road we have ever been on in our life, but is a must drive road with incredible views.

Our only issue was with the forest fires, which made the views not very clear. We left the park for that reason, since the size the fire grew significantly.

We will defiantly go back again.

Yes, this campground is located in an absolutely gorgeous part of the park surrounded by lakes and rivers and moose and big horns etc. However it is not my favorite part of the park and there is no cell service at all. You can get some AT&T up the road a few miles, but if you have to work you probably won't be able to here unless you drive into East Glacier each day (which I did). St. Mary campground was closed because of bears and that is where I would typically stay on the East side of the park because it is the only campground on the East side of the park that I can get Verizon signal. Otherwise, this campground is clean and beautiful.

We left Apgar campground on the west side for Two Medicine on a Wednesday morning. We figured if we got there by 10am, there would be a spot and there was plenty of them.

We had three trailers in front of us when we pulled in, so we asked the front office where the best place was for a 30ft trailer. They told us to stay out of the loops and just go straight through the campground.... great advice! All the other trailers were backed up in the loops.
We ended up squeezing into site 8 (no generator allowed there FYI). The site floods when it rains, but it was still nice. I wish I would have gone through the entire campground though, because there are some amazing sites with lake views on the other side of the parking lot pass the first loop!

Past the parking lot is where most big rigs go. There's plenty of room, not as many trees to hit with your camper and you are allowed to use generators over there.

There's no cell signal at all on both att and verizon. You will have to drive about a 1/4 mile past the entrance of the park to get a reallt great signal on both verizon and ATT which isn't that bad!

There are a couple of local shops with expensive prices near the camp ground. A good place to get some diesel gas not far from the entrance.

The trails are by far the best thing about this place! There are a ton, from easy to hard. There are activities for the kids to learn how to run away from bears and it's the cutest thing you will witness!

Overall, I loved it. We have solar, and there was plenty of light to keep are batteries going.
The dump station is super easy to get in and out of and there are a ton of fresh water outlets throughout the park.

It's the first day of October and very few visitors or park employees remain. Water's been shut off and all but one vault toilet is padlocked. Sunrises are spectacular, wildlife moseys through the campground and the fall colors are at their extreme. Plenty of hiking opportunities --- just remember to pack the bear spray!

Two Medicine is our favorite of the 3 GNP campgrounds we've tried on this trip. We even have spotty but good-enough-to-stay 1 or 2 bars of LTE with our booster. We may make a late September trip to Glacier a yearly ritual!

The Two Medicine campground became one of our very favorites almost from the moment we pulled in. The campground is located inside glorious Glacier National Park, but since it is not located on Going to the Sun Road it is tranquil. The campground sits along Pray Lake, a small lake just below Two Medicine, with stunning views of the surrounding towering mountains. Sites are a good mix of open sites and sites with shade and trees. Although the NPS website says that only 10 sites fit a truck-trailer combination of 35 feet or more, our rig is 46 feet long in total and we could have fit into a majority of the 100 sites. Given the potential for high winds in Glacier, tent campers would probably do better with the more protected sites with trees.

The best RV sites in the campground are right along the water in loops B and C, since these open sites have amazing 360 degree views and are perfect for solar generation. Unlike a lot of campgrounds, all roads are two-way, so make use of the cul de sacs to turn around and get the very best direction for your rig. We couldn't understand why most of the people in spots along the lake put their curb site AWAY from the view since it's so easy to come back the other direction to pull in. There is potable water available throughout the campground at unthreaded spigots every 4-5 sites. Bear boxes for food storage are plentiful, and there are also dumpsters and recycling bins. the campground has toilets, but no showers. There is a dump station.

All sites are first-come, first serve. Campers must find an open site that has (a) no tag on the post indicating the spot is paid for and (b) no evidence of current campers, since occupants have until 11 to renew their current sites. Rangers walk around to remove expired tags at 7 am during the summer, so the best time to arrive is at 7:01. We lucked into our site (87) by arriving early and stayed for over a week because it was so great. We also stayed briefly at St. Mary, and this campground is definitely a superior experience. We drove to Many Glacier in the truck to hike, and determined that the road into that entrance is so bad that we would not be comfortable towing the trailer there. Until that road is repaired, larger rigs should use caution when going to Many Glacier.

Two Medicine has plenty of excellent hiking right from the campground; Scenic Point, No Name Lake, and the route around Two Medicine Lake were highlights for us. The historic camp store is within easy walking distance and offers souvenirs, some prepared foods, and snack items, and is close to the dock for the historic boat that offers lake tours. The variety of activities and incredible views throughout the day more than made up for the fact that there's no cell signal at all.

To be honest, we wanted to fall in love with this place. We had heard such amazing things that we had high expections of our experience.

First off, the road getting into the camp is pretty rough. They were actually doing road work when we got there so I assume they were fixing, which is good. We got there at 8am for first come, first serve and there weren’t a ton of spots open. Sites 1-36 are generator free and since we were there for 4 days we had to be in a generator spot (we don’t have solar). We quickly realized that these were the best spots. They are private with river access and exactly what we saw in pictures.

When we got to our spot, we thought it was going to be okay but we were very wrong. All of the spots were super unlevel. Though they were pull throughs, they are all on hills and very rough. We barely got our airstream stable. We looked around to see if other sites were better but the only level ones were right out in the open and in the direct sun.

The good thing is that they have well-maintened bathrooms, clean water spigots everywhere, and the campground is super quiet. Everyone seems to respect the space and the solitude. The bad thing is there is absolutely no WiFi or cell, so if you plan on working here turn around immediately. You will only be able to get a signal 30 minutes up the road in a tiny town. Also, you are not close to anything. Yes there are hikes in the area and the scenery is beautiful, but you don’t feel like you’re in Glacier. It just feels like a really beautiful forest/river, nothing special to us. We get why people stay in St. Mary’s (although the campground is not great) or West Glacier, for the access to hikes and a true feel for the park. You’ll be driving no less than an hour to get to any place.

Again, this was just our experience and I do get why people would like this place. But for us on our first visit to Glacier, it just wasn’t what we needed. We ended up leaving early moving to Apgar because our site was so unlevel (be warned there first come, first serve is much more fierce) and to get the woodsy feel and the access to the park (and WiFi!).
