Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on July 21, 2022We really enjoyed our stay here. Even though the sites are electric only (50 amp), the showers were very modern and clean so we used them daily. The sites are huge with lots of space between each site and lots of grass. The sites are almost all in the shade which was also a plus considering it was hot in July. Those with satellite dishes may have problems. There's a very large grassy field in the center of the main loop, a long walk/bike path through the park, and a Frisbee Golf course. Even though the park is along the Big Sioux River, there's no easy access to the river as it's down a steep embankment. We love places where our dogs can get wet to cool off, but we were rarely able to take advantage of that here. The nearby town of Brandon has most things you could need, but if not it's only a little further to Sioux Falls which has everything else. We had strong AT&T and Verizon signal throughout the park. We wanted to stay longer, but the campground was sold out every weekend so we could only stay during weekdays when it was half empty. We purchased a South Dakota State Park Pass when visiting Custer State Park the week before, so we didn't have to pay the $6 daily park entry fee here. The large campsites, peaceful surroundings, and large clean showers were the big draws for us. If they had water at each site we'd rate it even higher. There's fresh water at the dump station near the entrance, and at two or three spigots around the park. We'd definitely return.

This place is a hidden gem. The sites are pretty well spaced out so you aren’t on top of your neighbor. We were in site 43, which I highly recommend. It is on a bit of a curve so there is extra space between you and your neighbors. The site is electric only. There is a dump station nearby and the showers are modern and very clean with really good water pressure. There is a trail system that runs through this park that is really great for walking or hiking. Lilly, our dog, loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay here as we made our way across South Dakota. The campground is easily accessed off I-90 and has nicely sized, well-maintained sites with electric hookups. A bike path follows the Big Sioux River. We stayed mid-week and the campground was nearly empty.

Spots are pretty private and theres a pretty nice bike trail! and multiple playgrounds! This was a nice place to settle in after driving from the Badlands. Wish I could have stayed another night! Very clean and sites were nice and wide to park into.

Really liked this park. Wish the weather had cooperated so that we could explore. It was cold and wet.
Each site has electricity, picnic table and fire pit. There's grass and trees between each site. The trees are not so full to completely block the sun but would offer plenty of shade in the summer.
This was a free weekend so the campground did not charge for entrance of $6 per day. Just paid the camping $20 per night.
There is a dump and water at a central location.

This is a well kept clean campground with good spacing between the site. Most of the sites, including ours, had varying amounts of shade. Our site and the majority of the others were level enough not to need blocks. All of the sites are gravel and most were large enough to fit our motorhome and tow vehicle. The road through the campground was asphalt with no low hanging branches. There was some occasional road and airport noise but nothing too bad.

Sioux Falls is a great town, worth an extended visit. The Sculpturewalk (in the summertime) was a highlight and the streets were lined with interesting shops. Falls park and the biking and canoeing were an added bonus.
The campground is tucked between River, farms and housing developments. Sites are level and fairly private. Clean showers (benches + hooks) and bathrooms. All electric sites are $19 + South Dakota entrance fee ($6/day) I bought an annual pass for $30, since we'll be at Custer in a week.

This little campground was a wonderful find. We were there on a weeknight, so it was not crowded at all. Our campsite was beautiful, backed up to a cycling trail and not far from the river. We had full hookups.

You think you've found a deal with $21 electric only, but it's really $36 after they nickle and dime you. Between tax, a nearly $8 non-resident fee and then they hit you for $6 cash at the gate to get in, you end up at $36 for 1 night with electric only. It's a beautiful park, but just be aware that you're not going to pay the low advertised rate. I'm sure if you were staying a few days it wouldn't be so bad, but for one night that's a bit ridiculous just for a place to sleep.
They have nice big sites and the biggest positive I can give them is the showers are amazing! It's far enough off the highway that you don't have major noise, but there is still road noise.
Sites are level, electric only and spaced out really well. It would be a nice park to spend a week or two at. You can stay up to 14 days.
Both Verizon and AT&T were excellent without having to Boost the signal. I was able to work remotely from here.

Big Sioux meet our needs for a stay in Sioux Falls. Sites were spaced far enough apart but we did not have neighbors near us in this very lightly used park. Bike path within parks lead to lightly used roads. Access to Falls Park was easy via a car and bike path around that area was great. Staff at check in were young, but friendly and well trained.
