“In the heart of it all!”
Swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing on Lake Hartwell are prime reasons to visit Hart Outdoor Recreation Area in northeast Georgia. Large mouth bass, hybrid bass, striper, black crappie, bream, rainbow trout and wall-eyed pike can be found in the sparkling waters of this 55,590-acre reservoir. The park’s boat ramps and docks offer easy access to all water sports. Visitors can also enjoy hiking/biking trails and a children’s playground. A self-registration campground is open seasonally, with most sites located on the scenic lake shore. Campsites feature water and electrical hook-ups, while hot showers and a pumping station are nearby.

Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on November 01, 2023Now to be fair, it was the first week of the season, but the comfort stations need a little attention and maintenance. Fairly level site. The others beside ours (57 & 56) were very level for the camper. We use a near by rock to level our teardrop. Nice view and access to the lake and fairly private compared to the more popular sites.

Very secluded, lake side sites. Heavenly. Staff was excellent to work with when a reservation error occurred. AT&T 4 bars was captured with a MiMO antenna facing west from Site 3, MiMO on Verizon jetpack make little difference in signal strength. Some of the grounds could be cleaned up, but to us it just added to the charm. Will definitely add this to our destination list and tell our friends about it, or maybe not. Keep the secret!

Stayed for one night November 1. Site# five. Just off of the lake, pull through site slightly elevated. Small boat ramp across from the site. Pretty day. Quiet. 29 feet from rear to tongue. Easy access. Good cell phone signal AT&T with strong data signal. I would have liked to stay here longer.
