“come taste award winning wines”
Producer of award-winning European Vinifera, French-Hybrid, and American Heirloom wines from estate-grown grapes. We began the 2011 renovations of the tasting room with the premise that the changes in the tasting room, while providing as much space as possible to our customers, should reflect our respect for the historic apple cold storage facility built by Fred's grandfather in about 1920. We also wanted customers to be able to see portions of our production process which illustrate our dedication to the production of making quality wines. We searched for and found antique barn fixtures, which are now mounted on the circa-1860's cucumber and hemlock woood beams. The new ceiling and bar lights, appropriate to the period, were selected to reduce glare. The old windows and their simple moldings were copied and we purchased old doors from an architectural salvage store in Buffalo. We retained the bead and board wood for the bar fronts, a frequently-used material of the period, and one that permitted us to recycle our existing bars. The new glass wall – all shiny and modern like the tanks behind it – permit easy viewing of this portion of the wine-making process.
