Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 26, 2023I had business in Cordele and didn't want to commute into town from the surrounding campgrounds everyday. Yes there was a little road noise and truck noise and train noise (horns) but I'm not a light sleeper. Cordele is a major interchange for 3 railroads so about 80 trains a day pass through town. The horns are no louder than other ambient noises. There are discounts available but you have to call during business hours and ask for them since they do not appear on the website when making online reservations! There are good restaurants and other local attractions if you research the area. I'm taking the excursion train to Plains, GA on Saturday! They have a nice history / visitor center in town. If you come in July - August, this is the watermelon capitol of the world! Enjoy some watermelon and take some home to friends!

Resering a site was easy and we received a gate code to open the gate. I was puzzled for a second when I thought I didn’t have power but then checked my confirmation email. Once I checked in, the power was instantly available. Quite modern and awesome. Big, easy driveway which makes it simple to set up or break down. Dog park is excellent but unfortunately people do not all pick up behind their dogs.

Based on reviews and experiences of friends who have overnighted here, we decided to give it a try as a stop on our way from Red Top Mountain to Orlando. We booked a night online. The day before we were to arrive, we got an automated email with a link to check in. Pretty cool.
We left our site in Red Top Mountain that morning and realized that we would arrive hours before the 2:00 check in. Since it’s all automated, we didn’t know whether an early check in would be possible, so we decided to go ahead and get our coach washed at the Blue Beacon 40 miles south in Tifton (highly recommend) and then drive back up to Cordele to check in at Love’s. We had planned to do that the next day as we headed south, but we had time that we needed to use before the 2:00 check in.
So, after driving 40 miles out of our way south to get our coach washed, we drove 40 miles back up to Love’s RV Stop to rest and get ready for the next day’s travel. We got there, did the automated check-in using our phone. It all worked like a charm! We thought it odd that there were absolutely no other RVs there. We were alone. We found our site and started setting up. After some time, we realized we had no shore power. Hmm… I heard that they turn off pedestal power at check out time. Maybe something went wrong and it didn’t get turned back on for our check in. I called the number provided to us on the email and was told, “oh yeah; lighting struck and there is no power at any of the sites. You can call the manager tomorrow for a refund.”
Seriously! Did they bother to call or email us to let us know? Nope! Was there a sign out front? Nope! Was there anything on the app to stop us from checking into a “dead” RV park? Nope! It was the weekend, so no one was around. We checked the main breaker box for the park and found a lot of breakers had tripped, so evidently no one had even gone out to check that. Resetting the breakers didn’t restore power to our pedestal, so we had no choice other than run the generator all day and night, leave, or bake inside a hot RV. We left.
They did refund our money the next day, which was the minimum they could do. I wish they had notified us all all of the others with reservation on that day (days?) so we could have made other arrangements and avoided driving an extra 80 miles.
On the trip down past Love’s to the truck wash in Tifton, we noticed that Carroll’s Sausage and Country Store has a sizable RV park on its property, so that became our Plan B. It was great! Nothing fancy, but level full hook ups, and really nice humans to check us in, quick and easy. $40 and includes a $10 coupon for the store. No specific check in or check out times, either! If we had known what we know now, we could have skipped the dead Love’s park and all the stress, and could have been sipping lemonade and relaxing at Carroll’s a lot sooner!
