We had a beautiful spot. Our campsite #15 was very well spaced so that we almost felt like we were secluded in the forest. It is close to the lake with lots of trees.
We had no cell service.
Each site is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. There are no electricity or sewer hookups at the campground. There is a dump station within 1/4 mile of the campground .Each site is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills.

I am thinking that this is a VERY popular place in the summer, so it may be crowded during the "season".

Canoes are available to rent from the camp host.

We stayed here for 5 nights in mid June and fell in love with Holland Lake. The campsites in general are spaced apart so you're not crammed in like many other campgrounds. The campground was very quiet and the scenery was spectacular. We loved the hike to the falls, kayaking on the lake and even enjoyed going over to the lodge for dinner. We are already planning our next trip to Holland Lake!

Holland Lake Campground is just 3 miles off the paved road. The dirt road access to the first loop, Larch, is pretty good, but the road got rough between the Larch and Bay loops. Larch loop has 15 sites, and Bay loop has 25. Some sites are reservable at recreation.gov, some are first come first serve.

We absolutely loved our site, #1, it had beautiful views through the trees of the falls, and easy access down to the lake. Many of the sites are very roomy, and well spaced out for privacy. Pit toilets were kept VERY clean & well stocked by the hosts.

While camping in early June, the mosquitos were atrocious, dont forget the bug spray!

Loved our night here! Hiking with gorgeous views just down the road, super peaceful and friendly staff. Ranger knocked on our Airstream door to let us know there was a small bear roaming about and to be cautious. We never did see a bear but we had dinner inside the camper :) Great value, restrooms had flushing toilets.

I stumbled upon this camp late last year after it had closed for the season and vowed to return simply because the views of the mountains and the lake were so amazing.
I opted for site 34 as it was tucked away at the end of the loop and it looked like I wasn't going to have any neighbors for the night. While the site didn't have a direct view of the lake (those that did were already taken) it was only a short walk to the shore from camp.
The sites are well spaced and have a good amount of privacy from other sites. There are bear boxes for storage shared between 2 or 3 sites and bear-proof garbage cans located near the bathrooms. From the outside, the bathrooms look to be the typical forest service concrete bunker outhouse but they are in fact fully plumbed with flush toilets and sinks. I would guess that the $18/night fee is because of the flush toilets, the other camps in the area that only have vault toilets charge $10/night. The flush toilets are also the reason the camp has a very limited operating season - Memorial Day to Labor Day - as there is no heating in the bathrooms.
The sites were clean and level, double-wide gravel parking spaces. Standard issue concrete tables and fire rings at each site.
The camp hosts have firewood for sale as well as paddleboard and kayak rentals.
Only a handful of the sites are available on a per night/walk in basis and are generally full on the weekends. I stayed on a Monday night and had no problem getting a site, camp was only about 1/3 occupied. It was very peaceful in camp, very little traffic on the dirt road leading to camp and quiet at night. The road from the highway to the intersection with Owl Loop is paved but once you turn past Owl Loop the road turns to dirt and it is very rough and washboarded.

What an amazing place! We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and lucked out by getting site #19 right on the lake with the most amazing views of the lake and mountains. It rained during our stay but not enough to ruin the trip - if anything it helped to keep the mosquitos away which were quite bad when we arrived.

The road in is great, with the exception of a few slight rough spots towards the end of the road near the lodge and trailhead. The campground is small, but clean and the camp hosts were very friendly and accomodating. They also rented out kayaks and SUP's but we chose to spend most of our time relaxing with a campfire by the lake. It was great! Oh, and flush toilets were a huge bonus, too!

The campground is also next to the most adorable lake lodge which was a great place to enjoy an afternoon cocktail by the lake with a view of Holland Lake Falls. Speaking of the falls, the trailhead is not far from the campground and our last day was spent hiking to the top which wonderful - breathtaking views of the lake, mountains and a very impressive and refreshing waterfall.

Couldn't recommend this place enough!

We’re posting a review just to keep the campground current as the other (somewhat varied) reviews do a good job of describing what we found. The first and upper campground (off Larch Loop) has more spread out sites (with direct lake access by short trails) but they lie along the dusty loop road, which is a bit dissatisfying. Some tables/fire rings are at a lower level from the RV parking spot, others not. This campground has the cleanest, best smelling vault toilets in Montana! (Thanks, Ken). The lower campground is tighter and so feels a bit more ‘communal’ but has a bit more direct lake access. A short, pleasant walking trail connects the two, as does the access road, which is 2 miles off Hwy 83, partially washboarded but passable by every vehicle. There are numerous water spigots and trash containers, a dump station at the lower campground, and a young black bear would occasionally wander about during our stay.

Both campgrounds are without electricity and heavily forested so most solar seekers will be moving portable panels often and not getting a lot from roof units. The Camp Host has both phone (for emergency calls) and also Wifi. If you need to get an important email in or out, he’s quite obliging...but let’s not Bogart the access with surfing. The lake shelves at a shallow pace and is great for many activities, and the overall setting is serene and inspiring. Often campers just hand carry their kayaks and paddle boards down the short distance to the water and leave them for the balance of their stay, which we thought made good sense.

We stayed here from 8/17/2020 to 8/23/2020. The Larch Loop is all by reservation while the lower, Bay Loop has both reservations and Walk Ups. The Larch Loop has vault toilets while the Bay Loop has flush toilets. All were very clean and received constant attention by the hosts. Our campsite was perfect for us with privacy, level RV parking and very shaded. There is much to do around Holland Lake with hiking, boating, fishing and sight seeing. Kalispell is about 80 miles north and an easy drive.

Holland Lake Falls is a must do hike although it was a bit challenging on my old worn out knees. There was much activity on the lake with paddle boards, kayaks and motor boats. There is a local dump station just past the Bay Loop with water and the holding tank dump facilities. The campground has several water taps. We did not receive cell signal in the campground. The mosquitoes were present but not too bad although you would not want to leave your door open on your RV. Most sites were RV friendly with a few drive throughs here and there. We'd stay here again and try for a site that backed up to the lake.

It is one heck of a drive off the main road down into the campground. There is a section of the road that is ridiculously bumpy. :) The lake is absolutely beautiful; crystal clear water, small enough that you can see across & surrounded by snow covered mountains. We were here in late May & there was a snow melt waterfall that was way away but we could hear it. Later we hiked up to it. Our campsite Bay 38 was rather tight however we could not see the site next to us. There are no sites right along the water. This allows all people to have lake access. The rest room had flush toilets & were clean. There is good hiking within easy walking distance. The first loop, Larch?, is on a hill & overlooks the lake. We drove around it & did not care for it as much as Bay. Highly recommend the Hungry Bear Bar & Grill. I had their burger with an egg --- wonderful! :) Used NP Senior Pass for the excellent rate.

Wow, I cannot say enough great things about Holland Lake! We traveled with our kids (ages 14, 9, 5 year old twins) and friends who had young children. We came the Thursday night before Memorial day weekend hoping for a FCFS and we lucked out! We got a double site in Larch ($40/night for double site). The camp host (Kirk) was incredibly kind and helpful. The campground is quiet. There's several paths to walk on and day use areas for picnics. Holland Falls is just down the road and it's an easy 1.5 mile hike to the actual falls from the trailhead. There is barely any cell service. Very patchy. They have paddle boards and kayaks to rent amd wood bundles for sale. There is also a dump and potable water. The dump is $5 and the potable water is a hose hook up at the dump so you don't have to haul water all the way there. There are tons of fish, but we didn't catch any. They also have a boat launch nearby.

Our campsite was perfect! It included a picnic table and fire ring. We did have to level a bit. Just down the way from our site was the most breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. You can even see Holland Falls in the distance. It was very quiet and peaceful. The sites were spacious!

I would 100% recommend to anyone!!!!
