Shenandoah National Park

This place is phenomenal. Every inch of it is just stunningly beautiful. I was here for 2 days and got through about half of it. I saw 2 waterfalls, that wasn't too strenuous of a hike. We also hiked to the Stony Man mountain overlook. There are a lot of varying levels of difficulty of hikes, so it's good for a beginner like me , all the way to extreme hikers. It's one of the best trips I have ever taken.

This park is amazing! The views are breathtaking, with many opportunities along Skyline Dr. We stayed at Loft Mountain Campground and Mathews Arm Campground. Each campground offered a different type of camping experience; both were interesting and comfortable. (no electricity or water at sites) Gorgeous park, a must-see for everyone!

This place is amazing. Just returned from 2.5 days of hiking and barely scratched the surface of everything the park has to offer. Stayed at Loft Mountain campground one night and Big Meadows the next. Hikes included Doyles River/Jones Run, Whiteoak Canyon/Cedar Run, and Lewis Falls trails. Saw countless waterfalls, breathtaking overlooks and a couple of deer (never spotted a bear, but they’re out there). As a native Virginian, I’m mad at myself for having waited so long to check out this fantastic park.

I have been to this park over a dozen times easily and each time has been absolutely amazing. One of my favorite places in the world if not favorite. I can't say enough about this place.

Absolutely beautiful place!! But make sure you go on a lot of hikes, every trail is different and its own adventure.

While the scenery is beautiful, we found driving the whole skyline drive too much... lucky for us, you can get on and off at several spots. After driving the first leg, we got off and continued our journey on the nearby highway. The view was actually just as good from the highway since you're not as close to the trees.

Three words: Old Rag Hike!! The park won't let you down. Waterfalls galore, amazing foggy sunrise/sets and awesome wildlife! If you're coming to the park, be sure to camp!

Words cannot convey the majesty of this beautiful park. Driving on Skyline drive was a trip and a half, and I had a blast camping there, both in the campgrounds and in backcountry sites. The people at the visitor centers were very helpful and knowledgeable when I was picking out my backcountry site. Breathtaking views are around every corner, and there's a great variety of hikes, from simple to challenging. I didn't stay or eat at the lodge, but it looks very nice. There's also a gas station halfway down Skyline Drive, which was a welcome site (the Drive is 105 miles from start to finish). I saw lots of wildlife (though no bears, though there are plenty there). I can't wait to return to this beautiful park.

Absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of hikes and overlooks suited for all walks of life. We stayed at Big Meadows camp ground and it was easy to navigate and book! There is also a gas station at this stop about 1/2 way through which is super convenient because this park is a good 40+ miles long! I would definitely recommend passing through or checking this park out! National Park stamps are at the gift shop in the south entrance!

Just beautiful and so much to see. Waterfalls, deer, vistas, friendly people, and what I came to refer as "land of a billion squirrels". Caught a gorgeous sunset. Plan to go again when we can spend more time there.
