Ontario Kickoff to Summer Rally May 24th Weekend 2017
This was my first visit to Inverhuron PP. There are three large camping loops in the park. I was on the Lime Kiln loop. The sites are large, well-treed and very private. There was one vault toilet and access to two comfort stations on my loop. Each comfort station was clean and well-appointed with several showers. Each of the comfort stations are shared with one of the other loops.
There is an excellent, well-maintained hiking trail along the lake shore. There are several access points to the trails from the camping loops. Dogs are allowed on all but the beach area of the lakeshore.
I had cell access to Bell 3 bars 3G.

A last-minute change of route landed us here - there was 1 available site online the evening prior to our arrival. I grabbed it quickly not really knowing all the details of the park, but what a stroke of luck! The overall quality of the gravel drives throughout the park, the spacious DEEP sites, excellent water taps, and beautiful facilities made the campground seem very new. But it is set in a densely wooded area right on Lake Huron with a spectacular white stone beach with crystal clear water. Our sunset was spectacular. This park is big rig friendly but the electrical stands can be a very good distance as they serve 2 sites. Many campers had long extension cords and the park website says there is an extension cord rental service available. The Holmes Bay Trail is dog, hiker, and biker friendly (signs clearly point out bike-friendly routes) and there are dog exercise areas. The only negative was some excessively noisy neighbors but the park police are no-nonsense and responding promptly. But I'm not letting that impact my overall score of the campground. The sum paid for the night included a booking fee and HST. The base rate was $42.75 Canadian. We were able to roam on Bell with 5 bars boosted.

Super happy with our first time camping at Inverhuron mid September. Rocky beach for beautiful sunsets and another sandy swimming beach. Dog beach too. NO biting bugs at the water or at our site! Clean water. Near Bruce Nuclear Power Site, so that might ward off some people. The lake reminds me of the ocean... it's so vast and majestic. 3 beautiful hiking trails and one you can ride with your bicycle that takes you through many changes in the land. River Trail you can hike by foot which is moderate to difficult (we didn't think so and we're in our 50's). 3 Different campgrounds... we stayed at Gunn Point as we wanted to be close to the beach, but all 3 campgrounds have a few spots close to the beach. We have a 25ft Airstream and truck and there was plenty of room on our site for both. Beautiful fire pit. You must by the wood at the park and one bag for $9 would burn for a 3-4 hour fire.
Down side for online reservations is you get charged $10 non-refundable fee and add the 2 nights ($95) plus booking fee, plus HST, plus wood, it's almost $130 CAD. The non-electric sites are a bit cheaper, though. Overall, loved the variety of the hiking trails and beaches!
