Planning my trip online. Your website says it's in Luray, but it's 45 miles south of Luray when I look on other maps.

We arrived at 8:30 on a Friday night and were able to get a first come site. This campground is run by the National Park service and rangers were helpful and friendly while suggesting available sites we could set up at after dark. The nightly fee is $15 (after the $20 park entrance fee if you don't have an annual National Park pass.) Restrooms have flush toilets/bathroom sinks and dish washing sink. Drinking water is located near restrooms. Garbage and recycling is available in the campground. A dump station is located just before the campground entrance. Sites consist of a paved parking pad, fire ring with cooking grill, and picnic table. Some walk in tent sites have bear boxes for food storage. No other services or amenities at individual sites. A concession vendor runs a camp store and coin operated showers nearby ($1 for 5 min shower.)

We camped in site 127, F loop which is a non-generator loop. Some loops do allow generators. There are some fantastic sites and some lousy ones. Sites are close together but there is a lot of thick vegetation between them making most feel very private. Site 127 was very private and shady. Next to us, Site 129 was more open and would be better for someone using solar panels. We didn't see any sites that were very level and some sites looked almost impossible to get level (this is located on a mountain.)

I turned off my phone and had an unplugged weekend, so I'm uncertain of cell service. I did see folks on their phones at the camp store.

We loved this park and will return to it again. We gave it 4 stars rather than 5 only because some sites would be very difficult to get level in and some pads are too short for even medium size rigs.

Sites can be a bit small to maneuver due to width. We are about 48 feet with truck & 5th wheel. Site was long and mostly private but could hear car noise on loop where we are camped. A lot of non-reservable sites. My favorite A19. Shenodoah is sooooo beautiful. Internet on and off. 4g with 3bars at amphitheater. Not many levels sites but it's worth it.

There are many camp sites here and most of the rv sites are a loop pull through. Like all the Shenandoah campgrounds there is no power, water or sewer hookups. You can run a generator in most areas for certain times in the morning and evening. The showers are down hill at the store. There are also tables and cell reception at the tables. The view is also great from the store. The sites here have more vegetation between them than Big Meadows or Lewis. So you feel a little more like you are out there. On Skyline Drive below the campground there is a larger store and hamburger place. Great Blackberry Milkshakes.

Shenandoah is amazing. Gorgeous views and this campground makes it easy to seem almost all of it in an easy day drive. AT loops around the campground and it has the best Amphitheatre I have ever seen. Well worth staying the night despite the enormity of 200+ campsites.

We stayed 4 nights at Loft Mountain over July 4th. I was concerned when booking looking at the campground map and not being able to see the grade and size/privacy of sites. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that the campground has quite a bit of different grade along with trees and shrubbery making most sites private. The campground is rather remote in the park leaving us to hike and relax. Cell service was spotty - I ranged anywhere from having no service to 2 bars on 4G all from the same spot on our site. Bathrooms are clean and adequate. I did not realize until checkin that showers are not at each bathroom but rather only at the campstore. Campstore has nice selection of gear and groceries. There is also a restaurant and gift store at the Wayside across from the campground entrance. We saw lots of wildlife including deer that would walk through our site, a bear while driving Skyline Drive, rabbits, chipmunks, etc. Overall we had a great stay and will be back.

Nice older campground. Potable water, flushable toilets and sinks in bathrooms. Didn’t check out the laundry area.
Plenty of sites available on a Monday afternoon. Nice Gift shop nearby with tasteful souvenirs. We hiked to the falls and back. Trailhead is a short drive from the campground.

We started here to drive the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. This campground was in a very nice location and as we were in bear country, a black bear was spotted in the campground while we were there. This campground was kept neat and clean and even with no hookups, we found our stay very pleasant. Our friends stayed on C93 which was right behind ours. The two sites were joined by a big 'back yard' which was perfect for us, and almost like being in a double site. We would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at Loft Mountain in late October. It was a sunny, beautiful Fall day. We had reserved a site as we worried that it might be full due to Fall colors, but there were a lot of open sites. Our reserved site was not level. Many sites are on a slope. The Ranger was very gracious in letting us switch sites. We drove around and found a great site, on the outside loop. The best sites, in my opinion, are A56-A64 on the outside loop. The pull through sites are nice as we are a 27" class C towing.

The ranger showed us the location of rock outcrops about 5 min walk down the Appalachian Trail to watch sunset. It was amazing. I felt like we were in a movie or a painting. So beautiful.

Our family camps here often as it is an hour from home. Great site with plenty of room. Pull through, back in and tent only all available. Clean restrooms, pay showers available. No hook ups but there is a dump station. People are friendly and most sites have shade and reasonable privacy.
