The campground was small and quiet. There are no hookups and mainly tent campers. The bathhouses I gave 4 stars out of five for cleanliness but I am probably pickier than most. They have no electrical outlets and there is a small flood light on the outside; if you want dark skies, park away from the main bathhouse. All of the rest of the grounds were maintained very well. Many of the campers were there for the mountain biking, which left the campground somewhat empty during the day. There is an input on Fontana Lake a short walk up the road. The campground is 9 miles from the Nantahala Outdoor Center. We will camp here again for sure.

This is a first come first serve CG, so I snagged a site Thursday afternoon. Good timing too!
We have a 20' trailer. Maybe half of the sites are good for an RV. Many are short or not level. Most are suited for tents. Site 30 was great and private too. The grounds are well maintained. the restrooms are nice and the showers were hot. Lake Fontana is big, but has lots of skinny fingers, so good for kayaking and the boat ramp is very close. The mountain bike trails are awesome too!

I love to mountain bike so coming to Tsali is my getaway haven. My 23’ trailer was pretty big for most sites but it I arrived and nobody else was there so I luckily had my pick. The mountain bike trails are a blast and the campground is ordinarily very tranquil and quiet.
Since I work remotely from the road, I always find it important to discuss that aspect so hopefully it helps others in my same boat...since that’s one key aspect I look for. I get 2 bars of Verizon LTE. I also have a WeBoost cell booster and that gained me an additional bar and at times a full LTE signal. I had no issues working here and didn’t even use the booster.
The camp host and his wife (and pup) patrol regularly throughout the day and were very helpful. Great job to them.

Have been to Tsali for the trails before, wanted to come back and camp and ride for a few days. Campground is reasonably nice. Sites are not overly large and you are close to your neighbors. Bathrooms are flush toilets and showers, a real plus at a FS campground. That said they were not very clean, or in the best repair. When we were there, it was mostly populated by youth groups either on kayak or bike trips. I dont know if that is the norm. They were quiet and well behaved, just made for a lot of people packed in a somewhat small area. The only noise was from the campground host who drove around in his golf cart while his little dog barked at everyone :) I would stay again for the trails. Solid 4 stars .

This campground was great! The grounds are well maintained, the bathrooms/showers are very clean and fresh smelling. I have Verizon and maintained about 2 bars the entire trip, enough service to text as needed. The Hosts could be seen everyday making rounds. We didn’t do any kayaking or mountain biking this trip but plan to come back! The quiet hours started at 10pm and they were respected for the most part.

Not enough cell service for work even with booster, but enough to send texts. Was told the place is usually full- world class mountain biking trails right there. I think boating too. Excellent free showers. Clean bathrooms. Head to Bryson city for breakfast! I checked out Bryson City, Cherokee, and the national park with this campground as home base. Site 11 and 13 are kind of the best because there's a cheery tiny creek that borders them. Such peaceful nights.

Overall, this is a nice campground. However, the bathrooms/showers are NOT clean. There are water spigots spread throughout the campground. Most, if not all, have threads. If you have a fresh water tank to fill up you can do it there. However, you will end up temporarily blocking the roadway while you do this. If you pick the right site and have a hose long enough, you could just run it to the trailer to fill up. The bathroom cleaners are lousy. My friend called them out for how poorly they cleaned and they went back to clean more, but still was not good. I showed up there about 5 days after it opened for the season. You would think the bathrooms would be immaculate, but there was build up in the shower from probably all of last year.
