This was by far the largest campground. We walked through the B loop and there are some very nice sites right on the lake which I would highly recommend. Our site was not our favorite, it was too far back into the trees, very heavily shaded and for some reason we had no signal with our AT&T hotspot so we had to go out during the day to work at the nearby library.
Starlink could not work here, too many trees at every site. We did get it to work for the most part one day when it happened to be pointing in just the right direction where there weren't any trees by the roadline. It dropped a lot through the day, but the drops were short enough where we could manage it.
My only complaint as with all the other Jordan Lake campgrounds is that the bathrooms. These weren't nearly as bad as the other Jordan Lake campgrounds, but nevertheless, they are definitely old and not as clean as they could be. I at least was ok showering in here. Crosswinds had a wolf spider in the showers, this one at least did not!

If you like Lake activities this is the park for you. If you don’t like huge parks then this park definitely isn’t for you. All lots are wooded and shaded. I stayed in a pull “through” site that was impossible to pull through due to condition. There was a huge drainage valley in the middle of the site exit, I noticed that several of the other back in sites had similar issues. Most of the sites have significant hills as you back into them. Plan on leveling you rig to a large degree at some of these sites. The shower house is pretty clean. Taking a shower can be an adventure. These are the first showers I have seen that are motion activated and temperature can’t be adjusted. The temperature was fine by me but the motion activation left a lot to be desired.
There is a ton to do in the local areas. The Raleigh Durham area is absolutely booming with just a ton to do. I recommend going to see UNC at Chapel Hill.
I had good strong Tmobile service using my Mimo 4x4 antenna.
If you drive a motorcycle the access roads are no fun. They are heavily grooved so be ready for that.

A beautiful place to decompress and relax. The wildlife and fishing was abundant. Caught some fish, saw eagles, hawks, heron, vultures, and ducks. The squirrels are very friendly and came up close to you. Keep your food put away (unless you want to share). It was a very enjoyable camp out and I will come back again. Electricity went out for a few hours in the late morning, on the 3rd day, but it came back on and wasn't an issue for me. Walking trails were nice although there was a lot of trash, bring a trash bag, and do your part to help clean up after disrespectful humans!

We camp here several times a year. Lots of dense woods and many big rig friendly sites. Quite a few are waterfront, too, which is nice to launch our kayak from our site. Maintenance could use some improvement and site-cleaning is almost non-existent. The biggest problem, though, is the questionable electrical supply. I have found sites with reversed polarity, and this last trip our EMS/surge protector kept shutting off for high voltages, REALLY high voltages, like 180V. I would have had extensive damage to my RV if I didn't have my Progressive unit. The repairman was nonplussed when I shared my reading, and he told me my neighbors both had low voltage, so my issues were not isolated cases.

Jordan Lake is ten minutes from my house, so it was a nice place to set-up quickly. We needed to organize and set up our Aframe pop up, and we found a site last minute. We had dinner plans with friends in downtown Apex so we were concerned about the park closing before we got back. We asked the gate personnel, and she said we could come and go 24 hours which isn't what I had read. The sign at the park said 9 a.m. Website says 10 p.mShe was a truth teller since we were able to come in late! This is a nice perk for a State Park, but I can't promise that it wasn't a fluke.
Lot was wooded without a water view. It was the first time that we hooked the camper up to water, and it worked well for outdoor showers on very hot days. We were thankful for A/C, and we took a break with the kids to swim at the beach near the end of the park. Beautiful place to watch the sunset. Just follow the signs until the end.
The best lots on the C look were near the end C 12-15. People were friendly and let us take our dog for a swim. Very quiet location! It was the perfect spot to decorate and splurge on camper goodies with major shopping nearby at Beaver Creek. Also, I met a friend for lunch in Pittsboro. Lovely historic town with a earthy vibe. I recommended the Small B & B for breakfast and lunch then walk to shops. The Haw River is a fun day trip depending on the water level. I'm thankful that the state preserved this location because it would have been under heavy development by now. The location is perfect, and the lake has a life of its own.

I stayed at Poplar Point the 1st week of October; it was my first time there. There are over 500 campsites but it was off season so not crowded at all. The sites are very large and private. I will stay there again.

We love camping at Jordan Lake. The large secluded sites are what we love the most.

This was our first camping trip in our new Forest River Wildcat and we enjoyed every minute of it. Poplar Point is a very nice campground most of the sites are level to moderate and our trip was very peaceful. This campground fills up during the weekends. There is no beach on the G loop so if you don't have a waterfront site you'll have to ride to a beach area at one of the other loops or to one of the public beaches at Jordan lake.

Have stayed at Poplar Point several times, and once at Parkers Creek. We like Poplar Point -both the campsites and the beach. Most sites are well spaced apart, and all are surrounded by trees.
Power is only 30 amp everywhere, and it can drop low during peak times. Used to have problems with my EMS kicking off due to low voltage when we tried running to many items at once. I now have a Hughes Autoformer and we've never had an interruption due to low voltage since. We did trip the 30 amp breaker once, but that would have happened anyway.
The roads and some campsites need repair. Looks like they are starting some renovations on Loop C, as it is currently closed due to construction.

Showed up at the campground prepared for no water hookup because it's winter and the reservation stated this. But it stated you can fill your tank at the bathhouse which is not true. Camp host wasn't there to ask where we could fill fresh tanks with water. So we drove all around in our motorhome in search of water. The dump area only has non potable water. Finally found water to fill tanks in another campground at that bath house. Park ranger was no help. Then get to our waterfront site which is on a complete slanted hill. Spent hours trying to get level there. Tried calling reservations to see if any of the open sites were available to switch to and told all were reserved. Meanwhile tired, starving, and now it's nighttime and completely dark. We're driving around in the dark with low hanging untrimmed trees trying to find a site. Never again will I stay at another NC state park. This was our 2nd attempt at one and both times were disasters. There's no one maintaining these in the colder months. Reservation line knows nothing and is given the same wrong info as the customer. I want my money back!
