Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on February 23, 2024Maumelle Campground is a beautiful Corps of Engineers park next to the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas. The rate shown is with the Senior Pass. We camped here in a 35 foot fifth wheel.
This is a popular family destination and was almost full on the weekend. Many of the sites are waterfront. We were in a spacious back in site with a paved pad, water, electric, picnic table and fire pit. Just a few miles from grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants it was the perfect place for us to stay.
Amenities include a boat ramp, dock, fishing, basketball court and playground. There are several hiking trails at nearby Pinnacle Mountain State Park.

Thanks to Campendium for finding this wonderful Army Corp of Engineers park, simply beautiful and well cared for. Scored a back in site on the Arkansas River, 50 amps, water, good Verizon and AT&T. Sites very long asphalt paved with fire ring, picnic table. All sites appear to be wide and easy to maneuver around. We have a 30' 5th wheel. Would stay much longer if time allowed.

We live only 30 mins. From Maumelle Park and have stayed here 3 times in the last 2 years. We love this park and plan to make many more trips here. It is clean quite and has separate shower rooms.

We stayed here overnight after picking up our Airstream from repairs at the dealer. We were struck by the open, sprawling layout and proximity to most of the main thoroughfares in Little Rock. This is great basecamp for every age in the family. It stays busy, so reservations are a must. The best site in the park to us was A18, because it was set apart from other sites, with a grand view of the river and within eye view of the park so parents could keep an eye on kiddos playing. We would have stayed at A12-17 and B30-37 as well, at the riverside, but for anglers the A sites were better for fishing from the bank. A word of caution, our GPS wasn't kind and directed us down a narrow residential road that was hairy backing up. Don't use Pinnacle Valley Road into the park, it is narrow, with drop offs and is too tight for most big trucks let alone a trailer or big rig. Use Chenal Parkway/SR 300 that passes by the entrance to the base of Pinnacle Mountain, then the sign for the entrance to Pinnacle Mountain Visitor Center is a quarter mile past that on the right. It leads directly to the entrance of Maumelle Park.

This is a well-kept park, and yes, the sites are spacious. But you can stand at your site and see into everyone else's site (and they into yours). It's very family-oriented and weekends are busy. Sites are mostly level, with a table and fire ring. Hosts are friendly. The road in was fine, we didn't have any issues with it. Our site, weirdly, shared a driveway with another site, and their rig was so big their tow vehicle took up part of our site. Not a problem for us, but strange. Would've been a great site for two families camping together.
Dogs' perspective: There are trails at the nearby park, however, within the campground there are very few places to walk that aren't on the hot asphalt or through someone's site.

Nice site that backed up to the marina , some beautiful yachts to view . Plenty of room between campsites . Easy access to Little Rock and it’s history . AA Baseball downtown in a very impressive stadium. Visit the USS Razorback , a functional sub that has seen action from 1944 to 2006 . See the Clinton Presidential Library too .
Good camping, lots to see and do and enjoy for nearly zilch in cost .
Doesn’t get much better .

We absolutely loved Maumelle Campground! The drive out was beautiful and extremely close to tons of shopping and services. There are plenty of different sites to choose from, paved and level. So much space between them with a bunch of shade within walking distance to the Arkansas river. The park is spread out with multiple dump stations and areas to launch boats. There are structures to have picnics by the water and seating. So affordable, beautiful and clean, a must!

We stayed here to be close to Little Rock, and the drive into the city wasn’t that bad.
Checking in was easy, we were fortunate that the hosts at the gate looked at our rig and suggested we might be more comfortable in another site. There was a first come, first serve site available. We decided to look at our original site first and we’re very glad that they recommended another site. There are two trees directly across from each other, right next to the pad in the middle of the site. The trees have broken the pavement and the pad slopes downward in front of the trees. The fire pit is on one side of the site, the picnic table is on the backside. I think it’s a buddy site because they share part of the driveway. Even though it listed as a long site, our 39’ 5th wheel and truck would be hard pressed to fit. That site is C7.
We drove to the no reservations loop, only two sites were free, the hosts had recommended E4. We had no trouble getting in, the site was level and we had more than enough room to park the truck. We really enjoyed it! We just wished it was cooler so we could enjoy sitting outside more, but we were grateful for the shade of the trees. Of course that meant we couldn’t get satellite, but we didn’t miss it.
It appears the no reservations loop is popular, we saw many people drive through before heading to their sites. It’s shady with quite a bit of space between sites. Some have a view of the river.
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, especially when the weather isn’t as hot.

Stayed here on our way out West. Great spot, easy access, really peaceful and nice view of the river. Dogs swam in river, kids fished and biked. 20B is a great slot on the river and relatively secluded. Facilities looked fairly clean, but given COVID-19, we utilized our water and 30 electric hookup in the camper. Would stay again for sure. Recommended.

Received Golden Age discount. Sites at west end of A Loop look onto a marina that runs parallel to the shore, so no real river view. Our site, A09 was not a level one. Campground is well kept and is wooded with mature trees. Would definitely come again. We made our reservations via Recreation.gov about an hour before arrival. Checkin was a breeze via an intercom at entrance office.
