However, being directly off the highway there is some traffic noise pretty much around the clock, most if which we consider white noise. However, it is,common for big semi rigs use their loud engine brakes when passing through (minus one star).
Friendly camp host. Nice kayacking opportunity on the reservoir with a small island to which you may paddle and hike. Across the reservoir there is a well thought out Lewis & Clark interpretive site at CAMP FORTUNE.
Very clean (Safeway) grocery store 20 miles N in Dillon, MT.
For a more qiet, secluded experience, try one of the other govt. run campgrounds just down the rd a bit (Prarie Horse, Lewis & Clark).

Right on the water. Easy pull through or back in sites. 50' sites. A little buggy in mid May, but no biting insects. Great place.

This is one of our favorites. Even though we live less than 150 miles away we always stay here whether going south or returning to Montana. Beautiful views, nice covered picnic tables, level sites and easy on/off. Some complain about highway noise but we never even hear it when inside our camp trailer. All this and at no charge!

This is a great stop off highway I-15 outside of Dillon Montana. We stop here often when traveling through. It’s usually in November when we are headed to warmer weather so it is usually empty. Decent Verizon service. Clean. No dump station. Did not try water spouts 14 day limit. It does get windy here. Large access for any size rig. Easy on and off of highway

We just stayed overnight here on the way home to Livingston, MT. Beautiful spot with mountains view! It’s free & you can stay max 14 days! Hardly anyone here since it’s early April. Level sites make it real easy for us to park our RV trailer without unhooking still level. All was great; not noisy from highway. The wind was blowing quite a bit next morning and we couldn’t keep our furnace lit to get heat but since we are leaving anyway, it’s no big deal. To dump and get potable water, go to the Cenex/Rocky Mountain Supply gas station & store on north side of Dillon. Five dollar cost for dump unless you buy $10 or more gas. Super convenient. We would stay here again!
Pulled in early afternoon on a Friday in June, 3 or 4 spots available for our size rig, whole place maybe has 20 sites total, many are lakeside. Site #1 required a bit of maneuvering to get our rig level so we wouldn't have to unhook. There are sites for tents & all sizes of RV's, and most have tables, shade structures & fire pits. Nearby pit toilets were clean. Trash cans and water spigots on site.
Great spot for fishing & kayaking. Beautiful views!

We couldn’t drive any longer and stumbled upon this gem. Even at 8pm on a Saturday night in July there was a space. The bathrooms were pit toilets but immaculately clean. The only negative was that we could hear the traffic on the I15 from the site but it was worth it because it only took 30 seconds to get back on the interstate in the morning.

When I arrived at 2:30pm on a Sunday there was a decent amount of spots left. The place was clean, and probably the cleanest pit toilets I've ever seen. I had spot #6 which was backed up to the water and also had a covered picnic table as well. The camp host yelled at me minutes after arriving due to my well behaved dog smelling around our camper site. There are rules posted at the very front which do state dogs need to be on leash, didn't read them until after I set up camp. Camp host takes this very seriously, even when the place is dead and the dog is staying in the owners camping site. I did see a few other dogs running around and the camp host didn't say anything about it.
Over all a decent place if you don't mind not having any privacy, and having to keep your dog ties up.
You can also sometimes hear the freeway traffic, you really have to listen for it though.

I love when I score a great free spot with all of the ingredients that I like. Easy pull through level spots, mostly, covered picnic table for grilling, a beautiful water view and great cell service. As of this writing, it’s very quiet here but we know how fast that can change… Right? This was perfect for an overnight stay on my way back to the Tetons.

Has Sheltered Picnic table, right on the water. Loved it. Heads up, if your going south, when you get off at the exit, do Not make the right turn, look ahead of you and there is a gravel road that starts along side of the on ramp. It is gravel but you should see the campground. We turned right and went all the way around to the other side of the lake and there was a "campground" but looked real trashy. We were able to turn around in there and go back to Beaverhead. Train went by once, I don't know where the train was but it blew it's horn.
P.S. you can Fish there!
