This COE Recreational Area is off Minnesota's main E/W highway, Route #2 (only negative) a few miles west of Grand Rapids. A beautiful day park just below the dam on the River and connected to the RV park with a beautiful setting. Well spaced sites are staggered so there's lots of privacy and all have River views. 30 and 50 amp electric with dump station and water available.
This place is a winner and it has room for big rigs. From the looks of tags on the site posts, most people here use it as a destination or decide to stay longer once here.
The highway is noisey, but most of us are use to that and accept it if there is a view and first class campsites. You get that here.

As noted previously, the campground has some pretty spots along the Mississippi but the first time a Frieghtliner train sounds like it is coming through your campsite, it's not great. My visit started off with a picnic table covered with sand - mot sure who checked site last.
Power is strong and there is room for some big rigs. There are two showers way down by the entrance but no washrooms. It's an ok spot for a day or two - especially if you get the pass discount.
Google directions had it on the other side of road.

This is a small COE campground that we absolutely fell in love with! The sites are spacious, all of them! We were right on the river. Sites are electric only, potable water available at dump station. They also offer recycling bins.
The grounds are maintained and clean, bathrooms are immaculate. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay!

It is a great place to stay. Many sites on the river.
It is hard to get a site. Best reserve if you really want to stay. Not far from town.
On a major highway so noise could be a problem for some.

This COE Park is very close to the road and railroad but the Beauty of the park and the river discount that. Sites are generously spaced, especially #15 also next to the vault toilets. In the first half hour here, the train went by (neighbor says its first He heard in 3 days), 2 police cars on high speed with sirens, and many noisy cars and trucks. Reserve online as you arrive or before. No reservations onsite. Very large level asphalt pad. Would have given 5 stars but for the traffic noise.

A very well maintained little campground. Clean, modern restrooms, nice campsites, along the Mississippi River, shore fishing piers, adjacent trails, fish cleaning station, very nice dump station. Only issue is quite a bit of road noise during the daylight hours due to nearby US Highway 2 and an occasional train whistle and rumble due to nearby railroad tracks.

This is absolutely one of our favorite campgrounds!
COE Pokegama Dam campground in Grand Rapids Minnesota.
$26 per night, electric only. Dump station, potable water, recycling and dumpster available.
Bathroom in the campground and bathroom/showers by the entrance are available and currently open.
Fish cleaning building available too.
Great trails for walking the dogs. Nice and wide and well maintained.
The campground itself is very well maintained and clean. There is about 20 sites available. They are all great sites, wide and long with lots of space in-between the sites.

Campground is squeezed between Route 2 and the river. Site had electric but no water. Sites were nice but all you hear is the traffic from the road- nonstop. There is also a train track, though the train only came once around 10 pm. There are clean bathrooms and showers. There are walking trails across the damn. Lots of pluses but the noise did us in!

I had high hopes for this campground based on the other reviews, however it just didn’t deliver. It is very convenient if you are traveling on Hwy. 2. It is big rig friendly and easily accessible for our 40 foot fifth wheel. The sites have 50 amp electric and are somewhat level and flat. There is a nice view of the river from some of the sites. There is a dump station and potable water available in the campground.
It is right next to the train tracks and Hwy. 2. The traffic does slow down at night, but during the day it is far from peaceful with that and the trains going both directions. The whole campground could use some cleaning up. Bits of trash and dog poop everywhere, campfire ring not cleaned, etc. We did not use the on site bathrooms so I can’t comment about those.

Small campground with only 19 sites but well maintained and right on the Mississippi River. Plenty of room between sites with large trees to provide plenty of shade. No TV reception but cell signal is very good. Campground is quiet except for traffic noise from nearby highway but it dies down at night.
